#PrayForAmazonia is the hashtag that is being used in social networks to demand measures to stop the fire in the Amazon that has been active for more than 16 days.
NASA satellites warned of the flames that were consuming the forest, considered the lung of the world.
Due to global warming, fires occur at a certain time of the year. But they warn that four months remain until the end of 2019 and it is already considered that this has been the worst of the fires in the last seven years.
The National Institute for Space Research (INPE, for its acronym in Portuguese), according to El Espectador, says the dry weather will increase between August and September and this will accelerate the fires.
But in Brazil the problem, in addition to global warming, also comes from deforestation, which has skyrocketed since Jair Bolsonaro became president.
A CNN article notes that deforestation advances to a football stadium and a half every minute.
