Photo by Robbie Shone @shonephoto | The caves in China are vast. The light from explorers headlamps do nothing to reveal the true majesty of the underworld. Pictured here is a multi-way junction deep underground in San Wan Dong, a giant cave in Wulong County. In the dark, it is easy to get disorientated and follow the wrong way out thinking it was leading you to the entrance.

Photo by @KristaRossow | Santorini is a study in white, blue, and pastel. To get a sense of daily life in the beautiful town of Oia, I recommend exploring early in the morning and getting off of the main streets. Photo by @bertiegregory | A magical patch of sword ferns underneath vine maples carpeted in moss in the temperate rainforest of southwestern British Columbia. Sadly much of this area’s old growth rainforest has been lost to logging. We must protect the forest that’s left, not only because it’s beautiful and a home to countless creatures, but because like all forests, it gives us so many things that we take for granted like the fresh air we breathe. #britishcolumbia #photography #wildlife #rainforest

Photo by @amivitale | An elephant observes me as I photograph him at @loisaba_conservancy in Laikipia, northern Kenya. Elephants are among the world's most intelligent species. They express a wide variety of behaviors, including those associated with grief, learning, altruism, use of tools, compassion, self-awareness, memory, and language. Researchers recently discovered that elephants can distinguish differences in human gender, age, and ethnicity purely by the sound of someone’s voice. If the voice belongs to a person who is more likely to pose a threat, the elephants switch into defensive mode. Learn how to protect and preserve these majestic creatures and all wild animals by following @loisaba_conservancy @nrt_africa @nature_org @nature_africa and @amivitale #elephants #saveelephants #dontletthemdisappear #stoppoaching #worthmorealive

Video by @JenniferHayesIG // sponsored by and captured on @GoPro #TripOn #GoProTravel // This is the symphony of the sea: sunrise, surf, and the trumpeting songs of brigades of king penguins arriving at dawn after a night foraging for fish, squid, and krill for their chicks. St. Andrews Bay, South Georgia, is a year-round breeding colony for an estimated 200,000 pairs of king penguins. The king penguin population, now protected and actively monitored, has rebounded on these subantarctic islands after nearly being erased by whalers who hunted these cold, rich waters. The kings of South Georgia are truly one of the greatest pulses of life on this planet.

Photo by @andrea_frazzetta | The Jungar Alatau, a range of the Tien Shen Mountains between China and Kazakhstan. This area, near the Eurasian Pole of Inaccessibility lies 1,550 miles from any sea or ocean on the planet and is home to some of the last surviving pastoral nomads in Central Asia.
Located in Central Asia, hugged by Russia on its northern border and China to the east, Kazakhstan is the ninth-largest country in the world, it has truly diverse landscapes and rich cultural history. To see more photos from my travels, follow me @andrea_frazzetta #Kazakhstan #centralasia

Photo @stephen_matera | Lewis Monkeyflower (Erythranthe lewisii) growing along the edge of a subalpine creek at sunrise in summer, Mt. Rainier National Park. Lewis Monkeyflower, named after the explorer Meriwether Lewis, is a common, but beautiful sight in summer in the mountain west, usually growing along the edges of streams and lasting later in the summer when other wildflowers have past peak.
