Lawrence Schools Foundation

Committed to enriching the education provided to all students by the Lawrence Public Schools.

More highlights from last nights big event, as we celebrated our sponsors, educators and community partners at the 29th Annual Foundation Follies event.
This event raises money to provide our teachers and classrooms with funding for Innovative Teaching and School Assistance Grants to inspire our youth.
Congrats to our 2019 Golden Apple Award recipients, Elementary Educator Tara Pearson from PinckneyElementary and our Secondary Educator Deborarh Woodall Routledge from Southwest Middle School.

Congrats to our 2019 LEAP Allstar Award winner Billy Mills Middle School CPO.

This was one of our favorite Follies events so far as guests enjoyed live music by Coversmith, dancing, amazing food and many even took the opportunity to sing live on stage with the band- including our very own Lawrence Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Anthony Lewis!
Thank you to all of our amazing and generous table and food sponsors who made last night possible!

How do we beat a rainy day?
We surprise another lucky Lawrence Public Schools employee with an A.C.E Award and a check for $500!

Margaret Dixon, para educator at Hillcrest Elementary School PTO was presented the award surrounded by her students, peers and family members over the lunch hour Thursday — and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room!

One person wrote, “Ms. Dixon’s positive attitude towards fellow employees and students goes beyond her hugs and daily affirmations. She personally gets to know every faculty member she works with and continuously checks in with what is happening with their lives.” Another wrote, “She makes people, laugh, smile and have confidence in themselves! Ms. Dixon comes to work with a great attitude and is always willing to help.” Congrats Margaret Dixon! And thanks for all you do for our teachers, staff, students and families at Hillcrest Elementary!

Students and Staff ‘Playing’ It Forward!
Last weekend the Lawrence High School and Free State High School STUCOs combined and put on a Dodgeball Tournament to benefit the Lawrence Schools Foundation.
Together between entry fees, concessions and business sponsors (Bird Physical Therapy and Bryant Collision Repair, LLC) they collected $660 to benefit the Lawrence Schools Foundation!
Thank you LHS & FS students and staff for ‘playing’ it forward to help your fellow students, educators and classrooms within the Lawrence Public Schools!
P.S- Congrats to Lawrence High School on the tournament win! 💪🏼
