"Don't tan, you'll ruin your skin."
"You need to tan, you're too pale." "Don't wear makeup, you're naturally pretty."
"You need to wear makeup, you have bags under your eyes." "Don't gain weight, you're a good size."
"You need to gain weight, you're too small." "Don't give up on your dreams, you'll get there."
"Your dreams are stupid, and out of reach." "Don't have more than one kid, you'll go insane."
"You need to have more than one kid, your other is probably lonely." "Don't fill in your eyebrows."
"You need to fill in your eyebrows, I can barely see them." "Don't be like other girls, be yourself."
"You should tone down your attitude, and your outfits." "Don't hate how you look, show off your curves."
"You shouldn't post pictures like that, you're attracting the wrong attention." "Don't keep your opinions to yourself."
"You need to be quiet about how you feel." "Don't keep it all bottled up inside, open up, tell people your story."
"You shouldn't of done 'that', then 'that' wouldn't of happened." AND the list continues.
Annoying, isn't it? Being a woman.
What's more annoying is that we're expected to be so much, at all times.
I've been told every single thing above, and I've finally hit the stage in my life where I've said enough is E N O U G H. I will eat whatever I want, I will pose in photos however I want, I will wear whatever I want, I will be as loud as I want to be whenever I feel like it, I will voice my feelings and I will stand my ground for things I believe in whenever I can.
We were put here to be much more than the world is telling us to be, or not to be.
We were put here to be someones person, someones friend, someones mother, sister, wife, boss, owner, etc.
We were put here to be all these things. And we have not failed at being anything, expect, maybe being ourselves.
Be you, be happy.
