When I was a kid and school breaks/vacation were over, my dad was my personal alarm clock. He’d take the blanket off of me at 5 o clock in the morning and sing (very loudly), “Back to life, Back to reality!” Where he got this energy from, I have no idea 🤣
This morning I’m meditating on getting back to “real life” tomorrow in Chicago. I’ve gained so much positivity and openness on this trip, and met some pretty warm hearts-the radiation of that I never want to let go. But we must move through to the next chapter and take what we learned to apply it in the future, otherwise we wouldn’t be living in reality, right? Although as @eddyriverohappenstoteachyoga says on his IG page “none of this is real.” I have to remind myself that a lot.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that sometimes, it’s hard to keep the ego unfed and not give into the negativity that surrounds us. People seek validation, become attached, and are not true to the present moment or their inner teacher. Myself extremely included. This wall reminds me to keep it all in check. To be aware of what’s happening in and outside of my community, but to live my truth and be a bright light while not bringing harm to others in the process. Let the Lite burn Brite and let’s focus on the reason why I’m here in the first place: to create. #makeartnotwar #hatersgonnahate #creatorsgonnacreate #inartandinyoga #loveislove #butimpuertorican #nosoyunbonchinchera #soyunpuertoriqueña #feelinggrateful #litebrite #light #joy #miami #chicago #wynwoodwalls #readyfortheworld #letsdothis #goandvote #civicduty #artistlife #vidadelartista - 7 hours ago
