This is all where it started. I was in my 8th grade. When one of my teachers came into my class and called out my name. I still remember that day clearly, like it just happened yesterday, even though it was almost 15 years ago. "Akshay" she said. I just got up and everyone looked at me. She came to me and handed over 2 copies of newspaper dated November 14 2005 and November 15 2005. It was Vijay times, a national newspaper in India. I held that paper and looked at those poems for a minute and I looked back at her. Everyone clapped for me that day. I couldn't hear anything else that the butterflies that flew in my gut. That day, the time ran really slow for me, and I wish if only it could stop. I opened that newspaper copies many times that day. And I do that even today too. When you read them now, them might sound pathetic. No wonder, they sound the same to me too sometimes. But in those 2 pieces I existed forever within few moments.
I had submitted few of the poems I wrote during that time, and 2 of them had been published in the news paper 2 days in a row. I remember I had waited a week before Posting them to the newspaper office. I was saying myself who would read this, but still I went ahead and sent them anyway. But it got published. It was the first time I celebrated writing.
Probably that's was the moment that defined everything. That was the moment that have brought me here, to present myself to all of you. But I am sure, that was the moment that changed everything for me.
If you are in a doubt to whether take a leap of faith and do something, go ahead and do it if your heart can't stop thinking about it. Probably that few seconds of courage could change many things for you :)️ And again thanks to all of you and I am very grateful too :) this journey has been beautiful nad breathtaking till now, and I definitely expect a lot from it further :) #akshayvasu #vijaytimes #memories - 4 minutes ago
