️WORK TRAVEL PREP️
Travelling with work can be super hectic and without a little bit of planning in advance or at least making some informed decisions, a sure fire way to mess up your flow fitness and nutrition wise.
Whatever your goal - plan ahead a little if you can and make it just part of the plan. No need to ‘put things on hold’, ‘fall off the wagon’ or require a ‘reset’ when you are back...
Here is how I manage it..
🛫USE THE AIRPORT WISELY - especially if short haul and budget, don’t rely on the onboard offerings and get what works for you in the airport. Also get those steps in before sitting on your for hours - stairs and walking versus escalators and travelator things
PACK A FEW EMERGENCY ITEMS - things that will help you hit targets, healthy breakfast items, protein bars, protein powder sachets (@wheyd are great)
PACK YOUR KIT & SUSS OUT THE SET UP - get a run route, figure out the gym times or even just have a workout ready on your phone / iPad to do in your room - more chance of fitting it in if you are prepped
BE REALISTIC WITH TIME - don’t set yourself up for failure by saying you will get an hours workout in the morning after a late night and early start - as little as 20mins is all you need CURB KCALS EARLY ON - if you’re muscle building go wild, if looking for fat loss, try not to eat through your calories too early in the day as likelihood is there will be local delights on offer later on and a boozy dinner out
