Hi, this is my friend Edie. She was one of the first people I was vulnerable enough to share my infertility journey with - she became a resource for me to understand hormone health and how to optimally fuel my body (you can see why over at @wellnesswithedie ). That journey has become part of my story, but I know we each have our own story with health. •Knees hip width apart
Feet flat on top of the mat.
•Only moving within the range of motion of the joints capacity, making sure to take slow, filling breaths.

I’ve been working through some old stuff that is showing up as stiffness and pain in the neck. 
This is the kind of quiet work I do in my bed before going to sleep or upon rising first thing in the morning. 
It helps to relax the central nervous system and introduces new ways of moving freely and organically which in turn affects your levels of awareness, your ability to relax your body and deepen your connection to your self and your physical organism.

This style of movement also experiments with our developmental push patterns from the very early stages of movement from 0-2 years old. 
When thoroughly explored, these exercises can help to re-calibrate old traumas, habits, behaviours and patterns we developed during those ages.

A breakfast with a higher percentage of protein can help you feel full longer and help to balance your blood sugars. Feeling hungry around 10 am? Try adding more protein in the morning 💛. Eggs are typically my favourite choice to suggest but greek yogurt topped with hemp hearts, or protein powder* (research carefully) added to a smoothie are other options 💛. Wishing you well xx!

If your cortisol levels are low, you may have trouble sleeping and find you need coffee or something to kick start you in the morning. Often you’ll have an energy slump mid afternoon, or maybe a headache and can crave salt or sugary foods throughout the day. The "calorie in calorie out" movement doesn't work. .

It's complete crap. 💩 .
.
The idea behind this theory that has been peddled in schools and by doctors and dietitians across the country is that consuming fewer calories than are used will lead to lasting weight loss. .
.
There are sooooooo many things wrong with this “calorie in calorie out” bullshit ⬇️
.
1️⃣Not all calories are created equally. Some foods induce high blood sugar levels, other promote balanced levels. Think about the difference between a can of coke and 2 cups of broccoli which have roughly the same amount of calories. Should those really be put in the same category?
.
2️⃣Reducing calories will slow down your metabolism, so when you quit that diet you're on you're going to gain it all back, even if you are only increasing your caloric intake minimally. .
.
Think about it- your body is pretty clever. It will adapt to homeostasis. If you maintain a reduced calorie diet your metabolism will quickly adapt by slowing down to match the reduced intake. .
.
So when you get off the diet, even just a little- guess what will happen? 🤷‍♀️
.
Yup, you'll gain it back. 🙄
.
The truth is-HIGH INSULIN BLOCKS FAT BURNING.
.
What your body needs to burn fat are these two things:⬇️ .
.
1️⃣You must burn through most of your stored glycogen
.
2️⃣. Your insulin levels must drop low enough to release fat stores.
.
And this doesn't happen through caloric reduction. This happens through eating real, whole foods that contain health fat, fiber, and protein. When it comes to carbs (which are really villainized too much these days in my opinion!) the amount of carbs for each person is really up to individual tolerance, blood sugar levels, and specific needs). .

So ditch the diets, ditch the calorie restriction, and focus on eating real, unprocessed foods. .
.
Don't worry about calories (we should really be counting chemicals❗️)! Focus on quality! And if your HPA Axis is cooperating with you, consider giving intermittent fasting a whirl! 😉 .

When your hormones are out of whack, it can feel like you whole body (or life!) is falling apart. But, it is a pretty good indicator that something else in your life may be out of balance.⁣

Usually, this comes in the shape of s t r e s s. When stressed, our bodies produce more of a hormone called cortisol, which inhibits the production of other hormones. Yet probably the most unhelpful thing someone can do is tell you to ‘stress less’. ⁣

Stress comes in many forms in the body. Under-eating, over-eating, under or over exercising. Perfectionism. People pleasing. Being constantly ‘busy’.⁣
•••⁣
The cure to stress may not be ➡️ relax more. The 🔑 is to identify the belief driving the unhealthy behaviour that stressing you and your body.⁣
•••⁣
Example: 👧 has deep rooted belief that she is not enough, and people will not accept her for who she is. 👧 feels like she has to prove her worth to others. 👧 develops serious perfectionism, making sure that everything she does is so good that no one can find fault with it. She is afraid of failure. This level of high stress and work eventually causes 👧 to burn out. Her cortisol has been elevated for so long that her endocrine system is compromised and hormones are all over the show. She is fatigued, putting on weight, and in pain after every meal. This makes her even more stressed and therefore even more sick. ⁣

This story has a happy ending, because 👧 finally learnt that she did not have to be perfect is every way to be accepted. She learned to see her own beauty and to let it shine out into the world. ⁣
Taking away the s t r e s s takes away the p a i n. ⁣

Rest and recovery, that's what you need to do at the time of the month.

At the time of the month the womb increases in size, this my present it's self as back pain, endo belly, urge to urinate, allow the womb to flush as well as it can in the period.

Aside from that you want to make sure you rest and don't over do it, because your body needs at this time. 
Skip the gym or do some light workout, be mindful when doing household chores not to be carrying heavy items that includes little people and if you have to lift from the knees! And do not hip carry that can lead to misaligned uterus.

If you feel a bit moody start a period journal and write them feeling down. You don't need to process them at the time maybe later, when your hormones are more chill you can have a look at what you've wrote.

A big deal is the sanitary products you choose. 
Think of chemicals, perfumes and avoid them near your privates.

Well actually if you kno when you're due and DEFINITELY know your not pregnant / you not been trying. But you get mad pains like cramps then yoni steam for a couple days before period is due, I'll bring out old residue and ease cramping (which is the uterus trying to expell) painful cramps are not ok and not part and parcel of cycling- yea that!
