The Francisco Coloane Marine Park is a protected area located in the western part of the Strait of Magellan with a total area of 67,000 hectares. This park is part of the migratory route of the humpback whale that migrates in the summer seasons from the Galapagos Islands in search of waters richer in food. This is found right here in southern Patagonia where glacier water, rich in sediments, is mixed with seawater and currents that come from Antarctica, generating an incredible ecosystem that supports a large number of species.
