Did you set New Years goals? I did. I’m late but here’s the 6 month goals check in! 
I made a goal obviously like every woman : let’s lose some weight this year. And for the first year in several I’m crushing it! Down 16 lbs and holding now!  Next I wanted financial freedom. This is the year I become debt free from all credit cards and my car. Which at the beginning of the year was 10k total worth of debt. I’m happy to say I’m crushing this too! I’m down to $2500 ! 
This year I made goals and stuck with them. I’ve kept myself motivated by not only going to the gym 3-5 days a week but also getting a personal trainer 1 day a week to keep me on track. Let's talk about our relationship with food. I don't know about you but I have had a very tumultuous history with my relationship with food, and it's still absolutely a work in progress. One of my fave saying is PROGRESS not PERFECTION and I really try to apply this to myself in all walks of life 💫

It's a horrible thought to have food controlling you - this is common but most definitely not normal. We need to take control of this and turn it around! Here are my top 4 tips to take control of your relationship with food:

1. Say YES! Deprivation does not work. Amen. (ps there are scientific studies that show this)

3. Send the negative chatter away! Tell 'her' you don't want to play with her anymore. Fill your cup with self-love, positive self-talk, tell yourself what a rockstar you are and what a great job you're doing. Speak to yourself like you would to a best friend!! And this means less likely to get into the emotional eating/binge/hate yourself/binge cycle. 

4. Celebrate food and your appetite! If you didn't have an appetite you would be dead. Eat real, whole foods which nourish your body fuel your organs. Over time you will realise that eating like this feels good! Above all, human beings are not perfect - it's about PROGRESS not PERFECTION.

Let's talk about our relationship with food. I don't know about you but I have had a very tumultuous history with my relationship with food, and it's still absolutely a work in progress. One of my fave saying is PROGRESS not PERFECTION and I really try to apply this to myself in all walks of life   It's a horrible thought to have food controlling you - this is common but most definitely not normal. We need to take control of this and turn it around! Here are my top 4 tips to take control of your relationship with food:  1. Say YES! Deprivation does not work. Amen. Oh no, our micro wave oven broke 😅 this will make living off of left overs a bit more time consuming... I'm just happy I have one of these glass containers that keeps food moist and yummy when you reheat it in the oven. Just pop it in for about ten minutes on 150° C and it comes out perfect 👌

I’m just about to head out for a walk to get some fresh air and vitamin D, and I quickly whizzed up this shake to take with me:

1 scoop of vanilla protein powder (I used @vega_team)
1/3 frozen banana
Small handful of frozen cauliflower
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp dried powdered ginger
1 inch piece of fresh ginger
250ml unsweetened almond milk and some ice

And I topped it off with more cinnamon and bee pollen 🐝 ⠀⠀

So today I thought I’d post a reminder of the basic steps to health, even though you might already know these and could be standing firmly in their principles, this is an opportunity to ask yourself: how’s my practice schedule?🧐

Our modern lifestyle (poor diet, nutrient deficiencies, stress, lack of sleep, lack of/the wrong type of exercise, toxins and medications...) directly contributes to all the problems that are ruining our health: diabetes, depression, heart disease, autoimmunity and many others☠️

The conventional approach of treating symptom after symptom with different pharmaceuticals has failed me, maybe you and many others. A come back is not a get back! - Tim Storey

I listened to the @impacttheory podcast with Tim Storey last week and he dropped this quote. To me it was very impactful.

I stopped counting how many people tell me in their goal setting session of my #Whole30 coaching that they want to get back to a state from the past: 
"I want to get back to my pre-baby=body". 
"I want to feel the energy I had in my twenties".
"I want to lift as much/run as fast/jump as high as I did 10 years ago".

There is nothing wrong with setting a goal, but as they say:"comparison is the thief of joy"... even, or maybe especially, when you compare yourself with a self from the past. You want to get back... and unless you are Mart McFly driving a specially riggered DeLorean... that is impossible. Your context has changed, for one.

What you can do, is make a comeback. I am now healthy and feel great in my body at a higher weight than I used to have. I am fitter than I have ever been... I would have to sacrifice that in order to loose some weight to get back to where I was at, whatever... 25. I would have to go back to starving myself (and binging in between starving sessions), I would have to spend hours a day on the elliptical, I would have to hate myself for wanting an ice cream on a hot day.
And that is not what my health come back looks like... and I don't want it to.

Always work from what you have now, do what you can now, from where you are now... because that is where your come back is at.

It's light, fresh, deliciously nutty with a cheeky kick of heat! Seriously so good! 😋❤👌🏻 .

It’s super easy to make using just a handful of ingredients that I bet you have on hand already and can be ready to devour in less around 15 minutes! ❤ .

Here’s how we do it; .

✨ 2 C baby spinach .
✨ 1/3 C Coriander (cilantro) .
✨ 1/4 C @thealmondfarmer  raw almonds .
✨ 1 jalapeno - with or without seeds, more or less to taste .
✨ 1 Tbsp lime juice .
✨ 1 tsp @livethecocolife coconut oil .
✨ S & P .
