Michael Jordan card of the day! 96/97 Fleer Ultra Give & Take # 5
This card is another that’s interesting to me for a few reasons, mostly related to the MJ resale market. It can be had for cheap...anywhere from about $20 to $40 raw despite the fact that it’s a full front foil and a sweet clean design. It hasn’t seen a huge jump the way some of the stuff that was inferior to it back in the day (think Topps seasons best series which were $10 to $15 for years and aren’t nearly as nice I don’t believe). I think one think this card “suffers” from is that cards from the 97/98 releases, albeit with a few exceptions, are more desirable and is arguably the top hobby year of all time for 90’s collectors. While I agree with that, there’s some cards that go against the grain of the MJ explosion in the hobby...and this is one of them. Not necessarily is it the case with all cards from thT year, but the lower to mid end inserts absolutely are in a different tier from the year after. What does all that mean? Pick it up now....cuz it’s only a matter of time!
I know there ARE exceptions (cut above, showcase hot shots, etc...but Whydo you think cards before 98 don’t get the traction sometimes that 97 and after does?
