Whisky series: Crown Royal, the safe choice of the whisky world. The plain vanilla. The Toyota Prius. The missionary position. Whatever you want to call it, it's the archetypical (blended) Canadian whisky. What this means is that this should be friendly, "smooth", and easy to drink. Artificial caramel coloring added for appearance. On the aroma, I get caramel, some nuttiness, floral notes, and light fruit. On the palate, it is essentially flavorless. There's some caramel, a bit of vanilla, and a bit of oak but that's about it. Slightly sweet with a medium body and light soft mouthfeel. Long finish of more caramel and vanilla. I'm not sure how they did it, but they managed to make an inoffensive whisky that is nearly devoid of any flavor. Congratulations. But for reals, I seriously have nothing against this. I would definitely choose this over Jack Daniel's or Jameson any day of the week. Plus, I can't fault the Canadians, especially for all their help during Prohibition and for winning the 2019 NBA championship!
