When your hormones are out of whack, it can feel like you whole body (or life!) is falling apart. But, it is a pretty good indicator that something else in your life may be out of balance.⁣

Usually, this comes in the shape of s t r e s s. When stressed, our bodies produce more of a hormone called cortisol, which inhibits the production of other hormones. Yet probably the most unhelpful thing someone can do is tell you to ‘stress less’. ⁣
•••⁣
Stress comes in many forms in the body. Under-eating, over-eating, under or over exercising. Perfectionism. People pleasing. Being constantly ‘busy’.⁣
•••⁣
The cure to stress may not be ➡️ relax more. The 🔑 is to identify the belief driving the unhealthy behaviour that stressing you and your body.⁣
•••⁣
Example: 👧 has deep rooted belief that she is not enough, and people will not accept her for who she is. 👧 feels like she has to prove her worth to others. 👧 develops serious perfectionism, making sure that everything she does is so good that no one can find fault with it. She is afraid of failure. This level of high stress and work eventually causes 👧 to burn out. Her cortisol has been elevated for so long that her endocrine system is compromised and hormones are all over the show. She is fatigued, putting on weight, and in pain after every meal. This makes her even more stressed and therefore even more sick. ⁣

This story has a happy ending, because 👧 finally learnt that she did not have to be perfect is every way to be accepted. She learned to see her own beauty and to let it shine out into the world. ⁣
Taking away the s t r e s s takes away the p a i n. ⁣

*I travel with mine, I actually never leave my house without my drink bottle- goal is to drink all 2 liters  before bed👌🏽

*We all know how important it is to drink water but most of us forget to do so especially when we are traveling since we are on the go go go! For some, it might be a pain in the butt to carry it around but the last thing you want is to be dehydrated which makes you feel  sleepy, with no energy and dizzy to mention a few. *
*Most travelers carry a backpack of some sort anyways so just pop it in and off you go! *
*I suggest you download an app to remind you to drink water. I use, Daily water- drink reminder app)

*If you do not want to carry a drink bottle around, try drinking water before every meal/snack/ as soon as you wake up/ before bed/before leaving accommodation etc. ****More water = healthier body! *********

👃🏼 It's scientifically proven that breath is a source of energy. ☕So instead of taking coffee, 💁🏻‍♀️You could just take a few concious deep breaths and energise yourself!
❓HOW TO ENERGISE USING BREATH?
👉🏽 Close your eyes. Hands on your knees. Palms facing ceiling. Inhale slowly and exhale slowly. With every incoming breath, feel yourself getting energised. Take 7 breathes like this. Slow and deep. And then sit quietly for a minute while all your energy comes together. Open your eyes and resume work! 💆🏻‍♀️ _______________________________

You'll Need...
👉Ripe plantains 👉Cups of Vegetable oil
👉salt- optional 👉Brown sugar- optional .

Directions: peel plantains and slice into thin strips, fry the pieces away from you to avoid oil splashing onto you for about 5-7 minutes. You'll also notice that it floats when cooked through.

Keeping your spine mobile keeps it healthy and strong. When you articulate your spine you work deep intrinsic muscles that when healthy and active will keep you free of stiffness and pain. Joesph Pilates said it best "You're only as old as your spine is flexible. So I’m a huuuuge fan of #açaí, but this is too much sugar in a bowl for me! It’s important to note that while fruits, granola & coconut chia puddings are great, having them all together = #sugarbomb. There are various solutions to tackling this: 1. Go all out, but watch your sugar intake carefully for the rest of the day and see if your energy levels are stable. (here’s a hint: they won’t be) 2. Limit your quantity (sharing is caring) or 3. Pick just açaí with one topping 😊

I often wonder, if I am not showing up on Insta what will happen?  will I lose momentum and all my work go unnoticed? Will people still remember me when I come back? 
Then I remember that I can’t pour from an empty cup, being busy on Instagram doesn’t necessarily mean success and that I also deserve to take breaks and enjoy life outside my phone. So, that’s exactly what I’m going to do! I’m taking a break!
