Now to today’s topic. Warning: It’s not the lightest, but I thought it might be good to address as these are common! 👇🏻

1️⃣ EMOTIONAL COPING. During tough seasons of life, particularly in childhood, it’s not uncommon to use food as a coping mechanism. When there is uneasiness or uncomfortable emotions, food can help temporarily alleviate those feelings. This relationship often continues into adulthood, making it nearly impossible to resist food for the relief that it brings. If you’re finding you are having a consistently tough time with overeating, I encourage you to ask yourself before you eat—what am I feeling? Is there something I’m trying to escape from by consuming this food? If you find the answer is repeatedly yes, it might be wise to explore the topic deeper with a counselor or trusted mentor. Because truthfully, success will be hard without addressing the root cause.
2️⃣ EMPTY CALORIES. You can eat 2000 calories of healthy foods or 2000 calories of candy—you’ll come out the same weight. But, the latter is full of empty calories. You want to make sure that you’re getting the macronutrients your body needs—carbs, fats, and protein. This will help to keep you satiated and help prevent sudden cravings that cause us to overeat. 
3️⃣ THIRSTY, NOT HUNGRY. It’s so easy to mistake thirst and hunger. Before you eat a meal or even snack, consider drinking a full glass of water and assess if you’re still actually hungry. 
4️⃣ NOT AWARE. It may simply come down to the fact that you’re not aware of what you’re consuming. It’s easy for hidden, unnecessary calories to sneak into our day. Consider using a tracking app to get a gauge for what you’re eating and make adjustments from there.

RDLs can be a tricky exercise to perform correctly.

Often times there is too much knee bend, or people reach with the weights instead of pushing their hips back, etc.
.
I’ve found putting a box behind someone’s legs, helps guide them to perform the lift correctly.
.
I cue them to not let their legs lose contact with the box and to push their hips back. Don’t worry about the weight in your hands, it will come down as a product of you pushing back.

Consistently. That means when your not making any business keep going. That means when your not getting any love on social media still create. When you see no/ little progress on your body still work out. Pushing your body and mind when no one is looking. Nothing makes you different from anyone else. Just stay consistent thats it.
