Don't look back, you're not going that way.
Everything that has happened in the past, especially the hard times, it happened FOR YOU, not to you.
It happened, it imparted its lesson on you, it can't be changed, it's done, look forward.
As a Type 1 Diabetic, I'm in a few Facebook groups for diabetics and everyday I see something to the effect of, "I hate this disease"..."I wish I never got diabetes"..."Have you ever thought about what you would be like if you didn't get diabetes"
I can understand where these comments come from and empathise, but they're pointless. Type 1 Diabetes is not a disease you can reverse. You get it, you have it, you can't change that.
Type 1 Diabetes happened FOR ME, not to me. It sparked me into learning about nutrition, health and fitness. I doubt I'd be in the position I am now as a health practitioner helping others without it.
It has given me a strength and discipline that I couldn't have got any other way.
I don't look back and wish it could have been different, or wish it never happened.
It did happen, and I am grateful.
I look FORWARD to new challenges, to new lessons, as I know this disease is not done teaching me yet and I am glad for that.
