Reverse Hack Squats

It is a compound movement that becomes a vital strength exercise targeting overall leg development. When performing the exercise, the core is engaged throughout the movement which makes it even more athletic and challenging.

How to do Reverse Hack Squats

1. Load up the hack machine with the desired amount of weight.
2. Position yourself in a way so that the pads support your chest and shoulders.
3. Stand with you feet at shoulder width apart and disengage the safety bars of the machine.
4. Lower the weight down till your thighs are almost parallel to the floor. 
5. Push the weight up to the starting position.
6. Perform for the desired number of reps.

✌🏻Having a bevvy of trying situations bestowed upon me in life has left me particularly non-judgmental. I have gratitude for where I've been and what I've seen so that I can be here, helping people better. I think to be able to heal people, we (healers) need to be willing to not only listen, but to conceptally understand. And some things need to be felt to be understood. •

🤙🏻There is no point in any client conversation I have where I can not make sense of a client's disposition, and then respect it. There’s nothing my client can say that will SHOCK me, which means there is no situation I can judge. •

🤙🏻My client's can come to me after eating 3 boxes of cookies mindlessly, and we can laugh about it together and move on. Whatever dark thought a client has had, I'm sure I can match it, and we use our experiences to move past them together. I get it. And I'm here. •

🤙🏻What makes me maybe a little bit different than other Dietitians? I don't know if it's that I am a native (and Jewish) New Yorker, or that I was obese a majority of my life or struggled with anxiety in my formative years... but I "get it." I am not afraid to laugh at our core, human traits. I think we are all neurotic and lazy at the same time. I  can't understand why anyone wants to do anything besides work ferociously hard, and then eat veggie chips and watch Harry Potter. And I will continue to USE human nature instead of FIGHT it to help my clients achieve health goals.

@icelandfoods Slimming world chunky beef chilli, was ok but I wouldn't rush to have it again. So last tue night was my first weigh in night and i had put on 2 pound 😔 tonight was my second weigh in and i lost 1 and a half pounds! I tried to stick to my plan and what ever i did it bloody worked 😂 so a new plan for this week and ill do the same stick to that and hopefully loose that little bit more! Im so pleased with myself as its took me nearly 2 weeks to get my head around changing my eating habits. The weight will slowly come off but i will get there! 👌

Our most recent excursion has been that of Tara’s weight loss. In 2017, she began experiencing debilitating back pain that required surgery. She had a broken disc that was causing cauda equina or loss of bladder control and nerve damage. Mid 2018, her back pain returned due to the other side of the disc herniating. She decided that the only way to get some relief was to try and drop a few pounds. The problem...she’s extremely limited on movement. Soooo, I developed a meal plan for her. This girl is a trooper. She is committed and has stayed the course since August 1, 2018. Massively thanked myself for preparing a slow cooker delight when I got back from PT this eve! Wacked beef, onions, carrots, leek, stock and seasoning in the slow cooker this morning and walked into dinner prepared! Served with broc, cabbage, mash and a yorkie pud (1.5). .

Lunch was a cheese and tomato bagel using both healthy extras. Carrot and Pineapple for speed and salad cream for 2 syns. .

Banana, honey (2) and yoghurt for breakfast this morning. Meaning I have absolutely saved enough syns for a cheeky treat this eve! .

If you do not have the proper food and enough of it available, you are setting yourself up for failure. I recommend you choose 1 day per week, or 2 if you like having fresher food, and meal prep for 1 hour. I have had people tell me it takes them over 3 or 4 hours! Let's keep it simple peeps.

Let's say you choose Sunday and Thursday to meal prep. Schedule 1 hour on each day. Choose 1-2 different foods for each of the mentioned food categories, and cook them in bulk. I personally put a butt-ton of chicken breast in the oven, whole potatoes in the oven and rice in a rice cooker, frozen veggies in 2 large pans, and some almonds in containers.

Then you can distribute the foods into large containers for the entire food or organize each individual meal into containers. If you do it right, I promise this will only take a couple hours max each week. But those 1-2 hours save you on a ton of calories, allow you to hit your macros, keep off hunger, and never have the excuse "I didn't have time to cook."

Can’t go a day without my oats😊 For breakfast I whipped up this messy but super tasty bowl.  Pro tip: if your oats come out a little too liquidy, just mix in some chia seeds. They soak up moisture to improve the texture while adding lots of nutrients.  This bowl has vanilla cinnamon oats with chia seeds mixed in. Topped it off with berry chia jam, banana, strawberry, sun butter, and pumpkin seeds! Oats are seriously the biggest staple in my diet. They are so versatile. Can’t go a day without my oats For breakfast I whipped up this messy but super tasty bowl. Pro tip: if your oats come out a little too liquidy, just mix in some chia seeds. They soak up moisture to improve the texture while adding lots of nutrients. This bowl has vanilla cinnamon oats with chia seeds mixed in. Topped it off with berry chia jam, banana, strawberry, sun butter, and pumpkin seeds! Oats are seriously the biggest staple in my diet. They are so versatile. i’m at the chip shop waiting for food but it’s not for me, it’s for my family, so i’m happy:) i had a very bad day and i forgot to take my medication this morning so i haven’t felt well,,, but i have tried to take care of myself. i’ve eaten apples (many apples lmao) and some snack bars, but am going to have some 158kcal soup when i get home.

overall, i am pleased with myself today.

EATING IN ABUNDANCE VS RESTRICTION :
it’s the biggest myth in the weight loss world that you must follow specific guidelines, macro splits, and caloric intakes in order to lose weight. “The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don’t alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit their views.” The truth is that it’s completely possible to eat when you’re hungry without worrying about counting calories or restricting yourself from indulging. When you eat a whole food plant based diet, indulgence can be found in every meal😋

ABUNDANCE BOWL, i like to have one of these daily. They’re full of vital macro and more importantly micro nutrients that will keep you satisfied, healthy, and lean💪
•start with a green base: any leafy green will do. In this bowl, i used spinach
•add a starchy vegetable or grain: i usually use a sweet potato bc i am actually obsessed, but you could use rice, quinoa, regular potato, etc
•add a source of protein: my go to is usually chickpeas, but you could also use nuts, seeds, lentils, beans, etc.
•add a healthy fat source: avocado always the move, as well as nuts and seeds like hemp, chia, or pumpkin •add some more volume: i kept it simple with this bowl and added cucumber, tomato, carrots, bean sprouts, and a lil cilantro •dress it up: i like to dress my bowl with either a homemade dressing, lemon juice, or apple cider vinegar
