I'm calling this a clean pull/clean high pull hybrid. Because I've worked so hard on snatches, I can do brutal complexes at high percentages. Cleans, unfortunately, have fallen behind (Can't win. 🤷🏼‍♀️) so I wanted to utilize lower percentages. Was a little too aggressive on the clean pulls, due to lighter weight. This complex was clean pull + power clean + clean pull + clean.

2 weeks into my cut for December, last 2 weeks I will be ramping up the training. I'm pretty happy with a sneak peak of the development so far. I haven't had the chance to train legs as often due to a minor injury, but it is getting better so I will try this upcoming week. Nonetheless, progress is looking good so far. Diet has been mostly meat, fruits, veggies, nuts. Workout 2x a day with some fasting, as for carbs I time it to keep fullness but it's almost nonexistent until last week. Let's see the end of the month.

3 position snatches from today. Pretty light which is harder for me - I tend to move better when I can feel weight in my hands. But, you should be able to move just the bar as well as you move heavy stuff, so we’re working on it. And I’ll probably miss these light days when things get heavy in a few weeks. I see so many people posting about new PR’s (personal records) on their bench press and soooo many of them miss all three of these basics. Before I explain them let me just say this… if you miss any of these with the slight exception of number 1, IT DOESN’T COUNT! I don’t care how much the weight is, who your dad is, or whatever. If you bounce it off your chest or lift your butt up, they don’t count and I’ll take that to the grave.

1. This is the only one with a little wiggle room. The tippy toe approach is accepted SOMETIMES. Sometimes you literally might be too short to get a good plant on the floor, so not much you can do there. For sure in a competition, a legit one,  if you don’t go flat footed they won’t even count it as an acceptable lift. If you don’t train yourself to do it the right way, you just get by BS-ing yourself until it’s time to prove yourself and you can’t perform. Flat foot or forget it.

2. This is my biggest pet peeve when it comes to benching. A bounce is a bitch ass move because you’re just using the momentum to create a upward force to help you get the weight up. A bounce press is not a bench press, do not be confused.

3. The butt up one is a very close second in terms of how much it bothers me when I see people do it. Lifting you butt off the bench when you press is like leaning back when you do a barbell curl or swinging around during a pullup. If you can’t do something in a controlled pace, you can’t do that shit (period). It’s also a good way to increase the chance that you hurt yourself overtime. We don’t want that boyz.

This message should be short and sweet: When you go to the gym, or workout, don’t just half-ass it to say you did it for the day, you’re not getting anywhere. Do it to make a change in your life. Do it to make progress in your strength, endurance, and overall health. Just because you went to the gym 5x this week doesn’t mean you actually did anything worthwhile? Tracking your numbers in terms of weight lifted or distance run in X-amount of time is a good way to keep you motivated. We all want to get better so having a real number to go off of is key to knowing how much is needed to improve. Don’t slack off while you’re there, you’re just wasting your time.

AB leg lifts from a while back. You can do it with or without holding on to something . One of only like 4 abs exercises I ever really do. 🙌🏼 Make sure you do weighted though! Abs are a muscle, to get them to bulk up and pop they need to get bigger.

It's odd to think that we can do all the right things initially and eventually get to a place where those methods are no longer viable. I have done so much to get to where I am at today, yet, if I were to continue to do those things in the same way, I wouldn't grow. I would only maintain my current state. The point of diminishing return. When you have achieved all you can with your current lifestyle, it's time to change.  This game is about growth. We must constantly re-calibrate. What got us to where we are won't get us to where we want to go. If you haven't done shit your whole life and you want some shit, you're gonna have to do some shit. If you have done some good shit, but you want more shit, your gonna have to do more shit. That's the way it works. Re-calibrate, readjust, and execute.

Wake up early as hell!: If you are currently waking up whenever you want, this is a critical area to address. If you are waking up 30 minutes before you have to work, also critical. When I say early, I don't entirely mean earlier. I mean ... like ... questionably early. Like early enough where people will think you're a freak, early. We want to hit that level of early. I would say aim for 4:00 AM. Start at 6:00 AM on day one if you have to, then continually move toward 4:00 AM each day. Get to the Early As Hell level!

Make your damn bed!: Making your bed is an INSTANT win for the day. Not only do you win in the act but you get to come home to a neat and clean bed, win-win boyz!

Take a cold shower.: When I wake up at 4:00 AM, I am borderline a zombie. 4:00AM mornings are pretty awful. But once I take a 0.5 minute to 1.5 minute cold shower, the game changes. I challenge anyone to take a cold shower that early in the morning and not be fully awake when you come out of it. I should also define the cold terms. This isn't the 60% cold 40% warm shower. This isn't the 80% cold 20% warm shower. This is the 100% cold shower. Go just as far as it takes for enough pressure to come out of the shower head, that's how I decide what level to go to.

Do 10-20 reps of something: some options: Push Ups, Air Squats, Lunges are all good options.

Do you even really remember the feeling you got from that piece of pizza or bag of candy you ate? If you forgot, just look down at your stomach, it might refresh your memory. Food is one of those things that when it's over, it's fucking over. All the enjoyment you got from it is gone, like you literally have nothing positive to show for it, but you keep all the negatives that come with that moment. When you eat poorly, assuming you want to be physically fit, you have to pay that back in the form of discipline and time. You don't just get to eat whatever you want and look how you want.

The best way I've learned to control this is to remind myself that it just doesn't last. When it's over, it's over but all the shit that comes with it stays. It's like fat debt. You spend all this "money" by eating whatever you want, but like real life debt, you have to pay it back. You don't just get to spend whatever you want in life and not pay it back. When you look in the mirror, or down, you see all the "money" you owe, just remember all those "purchases" are long gone but you still gotta pay it back. Like it's so much worse than actually buying things, because you actually get to keep things. You have unnecessary things you have around the house that you can, at the very least, sell later when you realize you didn't need it, but diet doesn't work like that. Food is like going out to the bars every weekend, you're looking for this temporary enjoyment that only spends your time and money in exchange for like 3 hours of fun, and then you go out the next weekend and do the same thing because the feeling doesn't last. 
Start thinking about if the things you do actually last. Are you moving forward, or backward? Are you looking and feeling better and better, or worse and worse each week. We only get one life as far as we all know, start acting like it!
