#Sunset Hike with #ArabianFiTrekkers
Every Night hike have a special adventure hidden for us.
The beauty of #moon The gentleness of #breeze The sound of #crickets
and sometimes a soft kiss by a #viper
Yes you read that right.
Here's what @faisi.shalmani
our lead guide has to say about his experience last night. "While we explored the beautiful #Jebel Malieha also known as #fossilrock last night, we sat at the #Plateau for a break.
As usual we made sure that the surface is safe to sit and no crawlers are around.
After spending about an hour enjoying the sunset, had my iftar and now was the time to make some tea.
As usual I spoke to my friend and assistant guide Shalin, Bro, "Lets get some wood."
That's when I felt something over my leg. With all the headlamps turned off and no moon on sky, it was pretty darn dark out there.
Distracted by the talk, without knowing what I was doing, I simply slide my hand, held this soft, smooth body of something unknown and kept it aside.
That is when the light bulb in my head switched on and lit up so bright, I felt the light beams coming out of my eyes.
Yes! I just picked up one of the most aggressive and venomous snake in the world. ☠️☠️ Saw-Scaled viper. I stood up, turned on the headlamp and said, "Shalin, snake bro. I just picked up a snake off my leg."
My friend as usual thought I was being funny, trying to get him up for making tea.
I held Shalin from his shoulder, pulled him up pointing to the snake that was casually moving away at about 2 feet distance.
Phewww!!! This was #Unbelievable
My hands were shaking, I was still feeling the touch of snake's body on my left hand. Out of my senses, staring at my hand and the snake, I kept repeating, "I just picked it up. It didn't bite me. It didn't bite me!" Thank God!
After regaining my senses, I took plenty of photos of this beautiful creature (from safe distance) and continued our hike back without the tea."
Though it was a scary experience but my love for #snakes and #wildlife in #uae grows even more.
After all we share this planet with these deadly but beautiful creatures. So be safe and enjoy the outdoors everyone." www.AFTADVENTURES.com - 3 minutes ago
