This was such a great end to a busy day/work week last night. #foreverfamily .
Last night, we attended our local Celebrate Recovery meeting (CR) and has the incredible experience of listening to a friend give her amazingly vulnerable and inspiring testimony of how God is working in her life tonight. .
Most Monday evenings you’ll find us here because I truly can think of no better place to be on a Monday night. .
Celebrate Recovery is a faith based recovery for anyone with hurts, habits or hangups AND it’s a program that the entire family can attend but feel safe in their individual gender specific groups. .
Through working the 12 step programs through this program and by God’s Grace and mercy, this program has helped me to: .
• To become more confident and to truly become the friendly and encouraging person I was meant to be. Prior to this program I struggled to make eye contact and I constantly worried about that people didn’t like me or that something was “wrong with me” but now I know that I am one of God’s favorite children 🥰
• It’s helped me create healthy boundaries. I was a chronic people pleaser and workaholic and struggled with saying NO to people because I didn’t want to let them down or disappoint them - even to the extent of not taking care of my own health (getting proper rest, eating regular nutritious meals, drinking enough water etc because I wa too busy working and living up to other’s expectations) ☀️
• Most of all, I’ve learned that I do have a voice and can stand up for what I believe in without fear of judgement or worrying that someone like what I have to say. These are MY truths and if someone feels offended or doesn’t like me, it’s about THEM and their insecurities. If sharing MY truth helps even 1 person, it was worth it 🙌🏻
Join us sometime if you are local or there are programs across the country to attend- .
