I'm having a day off and slept until 11.30 - never really happens!
Sometimes late night conversations that go on 'till the early morning are just too beautiful to end them even if you all know you should probably go to bed. You check the time and it's 1am, you check it again what feels like 10min later and whoops, it's 3am.
Who would’ve thought I’d ever enjoy a conversation with someone so very different from me so much? Most people here have never even heard about things like Whatsapp or Instagram.. they just found out about Facebook last year, whaat? And I got asked what the difference is between vegetarian and vegan. Bought some tofu yesterday and noone knew what you do with that. „I thought it’s bread, looks like bread.“🤔 Things here are just a bit.. different.🤣
Doesn’t mean it’s all negative. Of course, there are so many things out here that I absolutely don’t agree with. Farming, roo shooting,.. but I also get where the people here come from, they just grew up in a world so different from mine. I believe it’s always good to have an open mind and open heart. To listen to people, to try and show some understanding for their way of life because then people will listen to you as well. It's not always easy, not gonna lie, but I'm happy to share some information out here about the animals and the environment. And who knows? Maybe people think about what you’re saying and take home some new perspectives on life. So when I leave this place they probably all know what veganism is and the reasons for it.
What I like out here is that people life more in the moment, they live quite a simple but happy life. You can have real conversations without anyone looking at the phone all the time. Noone is taking any Instagram stories to share everything with the rest of the world. Now as you probably can tell, I love Instagram, but it’s nice to get away from it all for a bit and to spend time with people who’ve never heard about any of these things. It just makes you realize that maybe some things aren’t as important as you might think they are, there are people living without all of these things everyday.
Grateful for these experiences. - 6 hours ago
