Part of my wellness journey includes reading personal development books. I found this tiny book, simply called “Confidence” at Target last week. I stuck it in my purse and pulled it out to read on Friday while we drove down south for Grandpa Chancellor’s funeral.
These words in particular SPOKE to me. The more I do physically and stronger I get, the more I can face battles head-first and without fear... The more I understand myself... The more I compete with myself... And the more present I feel in my life. Like I’ve said for awhile, my journey started as a fitness/losing weight thing, and over the course of 10 months, it’s morphed into a self-discovery/wellness/mindfulness/nutrition/happiness journey. But it ALL STARTED with my body becoming stronger.
Every workout I do, I fear new moves. I am daunted by what the (freaking crazy ) trainers are doing on my computer screen. But then, I actually try the move (and quite often, modify the move to be a little easier by following the “modifier” in the cast of the fitness video), and I’m always SHOCKED that I actually *can* do it. 🤗 Today, I did back to back cardio and weight lifting workouts. It took me nearly an hour, and I wanted to quit MANY times. But I didn’t listen to that silly little voice telling me it was too hard. I persevered, and I got it ALL done. Such an awesome feeling. 🥰
I AM worth it. I AM stronger. I AM able, and I AM doing this for myself .. I have a handful of haters and I’ve learned to just tuuuune them out and focus on MY journey. Because at the end of the day, I’m not doing this for anyone else but me (well, and my kids!). Be strong. Be you. Try the hard thing.. I bet you can do it. New challenge group starts June 3rd!
