Just trying to make you feel things.. You probably saw this in our bio.
Since we met each other we’ve been having a conversation about how most of our lives no one teaches us how to handle our emotions. Some of us are lucky enough to have parents who guide us through them. But those of us who are not, are out on our own. School isn’t really helpful in that regard, most of our friends are trying to figure it out themselves... We spend our adolescence trying to hide what we feel, run away from it, or change it.
Emotions are such a big part of who we are, so it’s crazy to think so many of us go into our adult years not really knowing what to do with them. We learn how to operate complex machines, cure deadly diseases, send people to the moon... But we get a little upset with our best friend or see our partner crying one day - and we freeze.
As two very emotional beings we’ve struggled with this our whole lives. But it was only when we stopped resisting our emotions and started embracing them, being proud of them, and showing them as much as we can, that things started to work out for us in life.
We’re far from experts on this but if we could give you one piece of advice - just feel. Start feeling things. Sadness is not “bad”. Love is not “embarrassing”. Just start fully experiencing it, instead of trying to hide it or change it. ✢
