What Happens When We Suppress Our Emotions?
Suppressed emotions are emotions that you choose not to acknowledge such as anger, shame, sadness and fear.
If we keep on suppressing our negative emotions they get buried in our subconscious mind which often results in mood swings, unexplained sadness, and mild depression.
Many of us have become experts in suppressing and disguising our emotions. What we show outwardly, masks and hides what we really feel and hiding how we feel can cause things to happen to our bodies and lives:
1. Mental Fatigue
3. Weight Gain
4. Feeling Tired Often
5, Relationship Conflicts
6. Elevated Blood Pressure
7. Fewer Friends
8. Loss Interest In Pleasurable Activities
9. Digestive Issues
10. Facial Wrinkles
Suppressed emotions eventually unleash themselves and usually have a negative impact on the ones closest to you.
How Can You Release Suppressed Emotions:
1. Stay with Your Wounds and Feel Them:
Feel them, Accept them and Release them.
2. Be in Action and Motion:
Dance, Jump, Run, Move to unleash and release stuck energy in our body.
3. Rewire the Neuron Paths in Your Brain:
Say...“I feel xxx because I chose to feel it this way. But I’m ready to let it go now.” 4. Accept and Give Love to Your Emotions:
Comfortably confront sensations in your body and send gratitude and love to heal the pain.
Write and document what had you feel that emotion and what triggered the emotion so that you can heal old wounds.
Emotions = Energy in Motion therefore we have the ability to transform the energy into lighter energy or release it.
