Before lifting, my absolute favorite form of exercise was CLIMBING 🧗🏻‍♀️ Indoor, outdoor, bouldering, top rope—I loved it all!  It’s an awesome full-body workout that hits each muscle group, all while challenging the strength you didn’t even know you had (like finger strength, omg.)

When I first started, I preferred top-roping. I loved the rush of excitement you got the closer you reached the top, and the feeling of relief you get when you slip and get caught by your harness (and belay partner of course!!) Top-roping was a challenge for your endurance. The feeling you get once you finally reached the top after being truly convinced that you wouldn’t make it—that feeling is indescribable.

Not long after did I discover my love for bouldering. Though the walls are much shorter, the routes are so much more challenging! With bouldering, it challenges your strength, agility, and balance. Each route was like a puzzle that needed to be solved. A lot went through your head trying to figure out just how to complete said puzzle (i.e. which leg should go where, should I attempt this hold or should I just wing it, haul myself up using my arms or push off using my legs, etc.)

SUBSTITUTE ALERT‼️ I always loved the Salt & Pepper Pistachios from @wonderfulpistachios but on my paleo journey (which has not been successful in recent years😩) I started reading my LABELS!! Those pistachios have that thing we should cut out at all costs as best we can except in natural forms.... 🚫🚫SUGAR🚫🚫‼️ But this week I came across this substitute from @traderjoes and I’m so happy! Day 2✔️! I LOVED how challenging that was!  I had previewed it yesterday and knew it was going to be a doozy.  Got up this morning to see everyone saying how hard it was.  Then I watched @shaunt live video basically telling us not to psych ourselves out.  So when it was my turn to #pushplay I put my head down and prepared to embrace the hard.  One of the things that I really like about this program is that you do have to keep your focus down so you don’t fall off of your step.  That’s helping me focus on doing the best I can do and not comparing myself to what anyone else is doing.  There were quite a few pauses today to catch my breath and blow my nose (still getting over a cold), but I’m thrilled with my effort and can’t wait to see how I do next time!!👊🏼

Then I watched @shaunt live video basically telling us not to psych ourselves out. So when it was my turn to #pushplay I put my head down and prepared to embrace the hard. One of the things that I really like about this program is that you do have to keep your focus down so you don’t fall off of your step. That’s helping me focus on doing the best I can do and not comparing myself to what anyone else is doing. There were quite a few pauses today to catch my breath and blow my nose (still getting over a cold), but I’m thrilled with my effort and can’t wait to see how I do next time!!🏼 - 7 hours ago

Blanched savoy cabbage laves replace the pasta here and mingle in the casserole dish with homemade pesto cream and potatoes. It is topped with a mix of Edamer cheese (300g) with breadcrumbs (100g) and herbs. The most delicious crust you can imagine 🙏🏻. Don’t skip your post workout! You need to feed your hungry muscles immediately after an intense workout. This is proven to be far more superior than eating 1 hour later. Instead of eating one of those post workout bars with all the extra additives in it, try making your own! These 4 ingredient post workout balls will help replenish muscle glycogen that was depleted during your workout. 🏋️‍♀️ Don’t over-do it though! I would eat one or two with your post workout meal. It all depends on whether you are trying to gain muscle or burn fat. If your goal is fat burning I wouldn’t do these at all. Just a heavy bag exercise to work on power and explosive motion. I love this exercise because it allows you to work with an uneven weight. Forcing more muscles to ignite to stabilize the motion. Focus on exploding up with as much force as you can. Do not lock your knees when catching it on the return. This will help protect your knees from the impact.

☃️How I deal with winter☃️ .

Although English winters most of the time don’t go below -2 degrees and there isn’t much ❄️ ❄️❄️ it still has a profound effect on my mood, my energy levels and my well being in general. .

If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know that I come from Ukraine where winters are my favourite with heavy snow with minus up to 20 degrees 👍🏻👌🏻🙈 I know you might be thinking I’ve gone 😝 a little CRAZY but hear me out. With that sort of winter there are plenty of fun outdoor activities that you can do: skate on the ice, snowboard, ice skate, play snow balls, go for a nice crisp walk because who wants to go outside when it’s grey, dark and rainy? Snow makes winter so much better in my eyes 👀 .

Anyway let’s get back to reality and that is English winter with rain and grey clouds all around on top of which darkness is commanding my mood even more with sunrise around 8am and sunset at 4pm - it’s easy to see why I start feeling a little depressed around winter time. So how do I deal with my mini winter “depression”. Here are my top go to tips: ❄️ invite your friend or family member round - someone who has that good energy about them. You know which one I mean? If you ever met that person that you know what I mean, their aura and presence instantly boosts your mood. .

❄️ At times cooking a new dish/ experimenting in your kitchen can have a great effect on your well being 👌🏻 if you don’t feel like experimenting then cooking your favourite dish is definitely a winner. .

❄️Finally, a good sweaty session at home or at the gym is so worth your effort, trust me! You will feel AMAZING 😉  I use #beachbodyondemand which I can access anywhere any time 👍🏻 .
