Is it a good idea to cut out exercise from your schedule to focus on work? If you would, how long would you do it for?
Exercise time has been a necessary sacrifice as we focussed on building up our business. My initial (and in retrospect naive) estimate of 3 months quickly turned to 6, turned to 12, to 18.
I’ve been increasingly conscious that whilst a short break is probably fine, cutting out exercise long term is not good for your health...and a very unwise sacrifice to make!
I know people will say you can always squeeze a run in, or a few push ups or body weight squats etc. But I’m kind of all or nothing with training. Either I’m trying to push it and seeing results (hopefully), or I’d rather focus entirely elsewhere. Probably the wrong attitude, but hey ho.
BUT- now sweaty and out of breath, I’m back! Paying the price for so long out- have lost fitness, strength and conditioning, but I’m moving and lifting again. And loving it.
Out of balance for a few months to achieve a much better balance long term.
