To get extremely lean is extremely difficult and will leave you in a worse place than you could think. “Ya know those IG models, well one - they are dicks, 2 their lean-ness is not what it’s cracked up to be. Let me explain.
I would take a guess that at least a couple fo times per day you see extremely lean “models/ people” on your social media news feeds.
The ones that claim “You’ll attain the same lean-ness by eating the supplement they are selling or sticking to the motivational quote they have inserted”.
Lets look at the actual facts:
1. They are taking illegal substances to look that way
2. That picture was taken at a specific photo-shoot they had planned for. They dieted hard for 8+ weeks, had no life and felt like rubbish through that whole process for a few pics
3. Their supplement isn’t going to get you that lean - trust me.
4. Their mindset is completely off as their whole life revolves around being a certain weight/ body fat and re-attaining that physique gets harder and harder over-time (unless you are clever and patient)
To be honest you don’t want to be that lean.
You won’t enjoy life during this phase. It’s no fun.
How do I know?
Because I did it.
Early on in my career I fell for the “get shredded and you’ll be cool/ business will boom crap”
For 6 weeks I followed the most restricting plan to the letter to get super lean.
It was horrible, I remember every Friday when I had free time in the afternoon, I used to sit in front of the TV and think about food for the rest of the day.
The hunger pangs were horrible - 6 weeks in a row.
Did I get lean?
Yes but was it worth it - no.
Constantly thinking about food and feeling like crap is no fun.
"Oh your just not disciplined enough”
I am happy to be fit, strong and maintain a decent physique while enjoying life and food.
And the actual fact is that I feel and look (in my opinion) better when I am fueling myself and not restricting myself (within reason)
Us normal people have lives, kids, responsibilities and no access to illegal substances.
People want to lose a few kg’s, feel fit, strong and confident in themselves.
