Rose #Sapphire and mult color #Tourmaline .
Many years ago I took a talisman pouch of Sapphires with me to Peru. At the time, I was traveling back and forth regularly to study with indigenous healers there while creating jewelry here.
The pouch of stones was part of all of the ceremonies on this particular trip. From the sun temples to the moon temples, through the Sacred Valley to the top of Machu Picchu, washed in the rivers and dried in the sun. They were an offering. They returned as a blessing.
Since their return to the states these Sapphires have been untouched, except by me. Holding the energy and memories of that sacred month long journey.
When I uncovered the Sapphire used in this necklace I had every intention of creating a piece to be sold. But when the necklace and my meditation were complete I couldn't resist putting it on. Now I don't think I can take it off!
25+ years and this has happened only two other times. (I'm still wearing the other two as well.) #wearinggoodvibes#jewelrywithmeaning#sacredstones#wearwhathumstoyou#oneofakind#talisman#ceremony#machupicchu#powerfulenergy#naturalhealing#trust#stonemagic#indigenoushealers#peru#nativeceremony - 44 minutes ago

It’s been a whirlwind these past couple days and I totally forgot to post my last gem! 🤦♀️ I saved this one for the end because it’s one of my favorites. I’m always drawn to black tourmaline, but the colors in watermelon tourmaline are too amazing to not paint. The name Tourmaline is given to the large group of boron silicate minerals. The wide variety of compositions and colors within crystals causes it to have more color combinations than any other mineral group. In healing it is said to help you understand yourself and others. It promotes self-confidence and banishes the feelings of being a victim.
Thank you so much to everyone who followed along, commented, liked, and stuck around through this project! Your support and kind words mean everything. This next week I’ll be working on some commissions and a birthstone project and am hoping to get some prints to sell, so keep an eye out for that! .

"Liddicoatite is an uncommon form of Tourmaline, almost identical in chemical composition to Elbaite, but with a calcium atom replacing a sodium atom in its chemical formula. Liddicoatite was not recognized as a separate Tourmaline species until 1977. Prior to that time, it was thought to be Elbaite. The original discovery of Liddicoatite in Madagascar was believed to be fully dominating in hydroxyl in its chemical formula. Subsequent analysis has determined a fluorine presence in place of some of the hydroxyl, though several localities (though not the type locality) do in fact contain all hydroxyl and no fluorine. The fluorine-rich Liddicoatite is recognized as a distinct mineral species by the IMA, and termed Fluor-liddicoatite. Liddicoatite is named after Richard T. Liddicoat (1918-2002), a well-known gemologist who was the president of the GIA, and inventor of the Diamond grading system." - 2 hours ago
