Rearranging a few LPs and came across these two that I haven't played for some time.
Slammer - The Work of Idle Hands LP.
Released by WEA (Yes, that Major Label WEA) in 1989.
Slammer - Nightmare Scenario LP.
Released by Heavy Metal Records in 1991.
For those unfamiliar, Slammer were a shortlived Thrash Metal band from the UK.
They got signed to WEA for some reason and got the whole box and dice recording and production on "Idle Hands...".
Produced by Mark Dodson, he has worked with Judas Priest, Suicidal Tendencies... he's a great producer.
Not sure what happened after this album. Mabe a case of "Major Label, Minor Assistance". The next year they were signed to "Heavy Metal Records" which had a decent roster and the production was not lacking on this LP either.
They definitely started making more technical Thrash Metal on "Nightmare Scenario" and disappeared shortly after apparently disbanding in 1992.
Both albums still stand up and are really easy to listen to.
I especially love Nightmare Scenario, Though I do wish it was as fast as its predecessor.
