In case anyone was unsure if Colton was happy to be back in #Fiji on his #mission or not, I think this picture sums it up! Heard from him Sunday and he is doing SO great!! Made it safely, took these amazing pics on his first day, loves the people and food and work (& scenery) and is quickly re-mastering the Fijian language. As a #mother this is just the best thing I could hear. Seriously makes me smile from ear to ear to see him smiling so, too.
For those not on the email list, let me share a few of his own words about this journey he (we) have been on...
“A quick paragraph about my time home: It was productive. Productive sara ga (Fijian emphasis). Probably the hardest 8 continuous months of my life, 11 if you include the time I was on my mission before. However, I use the word productive because I feel I have grown and learned more in the last year than in any year of my life. I say that confidently. I did a semester and a half at BYU and read books at home, all the while going through an intense internal change of the way I think, feel, and act; that is basically how I spent my time. So, I got some good schooling done, learned from several books, and took care of business, all in preparation for me to return. And let's just say that I'm glad that time has come.... I also think it is important to note that although Fiji is great, I was home preparing to go back on my MISSION, not Fiji. No matter where I would have gotten called, it is the work that brings me the most joy. The church is true people and I see now that it is true no matter where you are in the world!”
Happiest and Proudest mom ever.
