Exercise used to be something I did just to burn calories so my body got smaller...something I did when I "ate too much" and was something I usually tried to avoid at all costs unless I was dieting. Can you relate!?
On Saturday, I got up at 3:30am to line up for a prime spot at a 90-minute workout. BY CHOICE. Because exercise makes me feel powerful, is what will hopefully keep my wheels from falling off as I get older, and what energizes me. I stood there, amongst 20,000 others working out in the streets of downtown Indy, and got chills at the craziness of it all.
So many of you messaged me this weekend saying how they wish they were like me. Girl, YOU CAN BE!
I don't have anything you don't. It's not motivation. It's not drive - I don't believe in those. That says you aren't in control of your life and choices. Whether you tell yourself you can or you can't, you're right.
I chose to adopt a different mindset around fitness and nutrition, but I didn't get there on my own. I have an INCREDIBLE fit family that supports me. I've never even met some of them but we have this journey in common. These are things available to anybody - all you have to do is ask. The time doesn't have to "be right" and you don't have to have it all figured out. Take the first step in reaching out and the rest will fall into place!
Oh - and after we crushed that workout (I modified but never quit), we went and got milkshakes. Because I'm still VERY much me ❤️
I have a members-only group for those ready to tackle their goals with the same tools I use, and an open online community for everybody else. You're welcome in either, just tell me where to send the invite!
