In many cultures throughout history, Bluebirds are recognized as symbols of happiness, prosperity, grace, and peace. The puffy, bouncy “bluebird” of NYC, the House Finch, has once again begun to flock to the sidewalks as a sign that Spring has returned.
The Bluebird also reminds me of the saying “a bluebird day”: a day with clear skies, most likely occurring after a storm. Particular to winter skiing, we are told that bluebird days are desirable and meant to be cherished- but for another sport, fishing, bluebird days signify that the fish will be exhibiting behaviors not conducive to taking the bait. This juxtaposition is a great reminder to consider that opportunity for interpretation exists in all things. - 4 hours ago
