"I would say one of the happiest moments of my life was when I got engaged to my best friend. The amount of joy and nerves that I had on that day will be hard to top. You know, when you find someone that sees all your flaws, junk, and mistakes but still loves you deeply, it’s a beautiful thing. We’re not perfect by any means, but it’s so comforting knowing that I’ve got the one who God designed for me to navigate through this mess called life with.
One of the hardest moments of my life was when my parents got divorced. Growing up and loving both of your parents, you never want to see them split up. I always thought our family was perfect and that divorce would never happen to us. That was a humbling, sobering time. Luckily, I’ve been blessed with some pretty great people in my life, including both my parents, that were by my side to help me get through that. Mom and Pops, I love y’all!
The person I look up to the most is Jesus. When looking at what it means to be a man, I’ve always wondered why we never looked at perfection. Christ came to the world, lived a perfect life while facing the same temptations we do today, and was put on a cross for me, for you, for everyone - and if the story stopped there, we’d be in trouble, but it doesn’t. Three days later, He rose again. Defeated sin and death, claiming victory forever and because of that, we can have hope. I look up to Jesus Christ as my lord and savior because he’s everything I’m not. Apart from him, I’m a sinner. I’m prideful, arrogant, selfish, lustful, greedy, and the list goes on and on. I’m sure if you asked the people I know, they can probably attest to seeing some of these qualities from time to time, but the Bible says that when you take this stuff to Jesus and ask Him to forgive you, He does and I am so glad He does.
