WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TAKE A WEEK OFF FROM LIFTING by @lb3fitness
🤷🏼♂️We’ve all been there
🏻You’ve been hitting the gym consistently for weeks, months, even years. Things are going great, you’re seeing progress like you never have before
Then, something comes up. A family vacation, work gets hectic, you get sick, life gets in the way.
😯For whatever reason, you’re going to be out of the gym for a week or two at least
Thats when you start to freak out. You don’t want to lose all of your hard earned progress and start from scratch
Some people will even go as far as to avoid vacations and other time off, just because they are scared of missing the gym
I’m here to tell you though, you don’t have to worry
Muscle does not melt off your body in a few short days or weeks
In order for you to lose actual muscle mass. you either need to lose so much weight that your body breaks down the muscle for food, or the muscles must sit for so long not being used that they atrophy
Neither of these things happen in under 2 weeks
2-4 weeks is pushing a bit, but you’d honestly be fine once you got back into the gym
The only thing that might happen is you will feel a bit de-conditioned, and your workouts will feel harder. You will also experience more soreness when you first come back than normal, but that will subside shortly.
So don’t fear, don’t stress, and enjoy some time off. Your muscles will be there waiting when you get back
Send this to someone who is scared of losing their gains!
