Week 6/8 to Biel 100.
“Working on a clear vision! I’ve been asked many times how one can handle running 100km. One crucial factor is, I’ve covered the marathon distance of 42,195km 11 times so far and in preparation for @100km_biel_ultra_runningdays , I will run another and last training marathon tomorrow @wintimarathon. So, I’m used to it, my body and mind are adapted to it. Nonetheless, being out there for 100km is a different story. Not necessarily physically, but mentally. Which is why I’ve also been working on a mental strategy that I believe will work best for me when it comes to breaking down 100 kilometers into smaller pieces. And here is what I’ve come up with, here is how I will positively fool myself all the way across that finish line. It’s a 5-step plan:
1️⃣ ONLY 1 MARATHON, I KNOW SO WELL HOW THIS FEELS LIKE!
2️⃣ JUST A BIT MORE, AND THEN I ALREADY GOT 50% COVERED! HALF THE BATTLE!
3️⃣ ONLY A HALF MARATHON FEELS GOOD NOW!
4️⃣ ANOTHER HALF? NO PROBLEM! BECAUSE AFTER IT’S...
5️⃣ ONLY A CASUAL 10K TO FINISH UP.
The nice thing is you can use a similar strategy for whatever distance lies ahead of you. Face the challenge!”
