Today's edition was filled with information but here is a quick extract with 2 main areas of interest. What happened at Rana Plaza, and ways we can push back against companies who promote unfair trade in their supply chain. It's a basic human right to have a fair wage and fair working conditions. Before I go on, congratulations to the fashion companies worldwide who ARE ethical and are making a difference in people's lives 🌍 "On this day in 2013 outside Dhaka in Bangladesh, the eight story building that housed five garment factories, collapsed killing 1,134 people and injuring many more. Structural failure was to blame for the collapse, and the building was known to have been built with substandard materials under faulty conditions, and even despite concerns from workers the previous day of creaking noises throughout the building, production remained very much active. It's no joke our society is hooked on fast consuming. It's sickening to think we feel so detached from our shopping choices where it's almost cheaper to buy new clothes than to wash and dry clean your old ones. This doesn't sit well with me at all.
