Tonight is the 45th and final performance of my 2018/19 season!! I can honestly say it’s been the most rewarding, challenging, thrilling year of my artistic life, and I’m so proud of all I was able to achieve in the last twelve months.
I performed my first Wagner role - David in ‘Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg’. It was such a challenge to prepare this role, but so much fun, and I was lucky enough to receive wonderful comments and reviews, and almost immediately the opportunity to perform the role again with @staatstheater.wiesbaden !
I was Prince Ramiro once again in the revival of ‘La Cenerentola’. I was my little zombie lover, Jaquino in ‘Fidelio’.
I performed in the world’s oldest running opera production, Parsifal here in my beloved @nationaltheater_mannheim_ntm.
I returned to Bordeaux, this time to sing in a performance of Dvorak’s Stabat Mater for @operadebordeaux.
I filled in for colleagues a few times. Firstly as Goro in ‘Madama Butterfly’ for my good friend Pascal Herrington at @theatermuenster. I also took over three performances as Orpheus for my friend Josh Whitener right here in Mannheim in the hilarious production of ‘Orpheus in der Unterwelt’.
I jumped in at @theater_und_orchester_hd in their production of Idomeneo as Idamante, a role I had never seen until the night of the performance!
I performed a series of New Years concerts with three of the most incredibly talented sopranos I know, @nikolahillebrand , @ameliascicolone and @cornelia.zink.
I performed my second full guest contract in Germany, with my friend Manfred Lehner at #TheaterLübeck in Bernstein’s ‘A Quiet Place’. It really has been a busy year, and I think I earned this little break before we get right back to it in September!!! PS. Thank you beyond words to my beautiful husband Ted, without whom this would be impossible ❤️❤️❤️
