2 very happy miles today 🙌

Slowly the mileage can start to build again. It’s 2 mile runs for a bit along with some higher resistance bands on Monday.
•
If the knee continues to stay in a happy place, I’ll start adding more strength focused exercises soon to start building the lower area of my VMO back up.
•
Dear @austinmarathon, I’m gonna see you next year. I’m going to be ready and we are going to party up!

Day 25 ✔✔ Feeling so much better today and killed my workout. During stretching my legs were shaking soooooo hard & I had to stretch from the ground! Last leg day of phase 1!! Tomorrow completes phase 1 then it's onto heavier weights, more reps and a whole different set of workouts! 💥

Better late than never right?

No running today. Coach has me sticking to only 2 days in a row for now as we ease back into things. I planned to do an hour of strength this morning, but when my alarm went off this morning sleep was really calling my name. I've been beat mentally with all that is going on, so I listened and grabbed the extra ZZZs.
.
Once the youngest was tucked in I snuck upstairs for almost an hour of strength work. I started with the myrtl routine and a strength workout @goodrunning26.2 running shared the other day and finished with part of one of my arm circuits. Feeling 💪 and now I'm chowing on one of my favorite snacks 🍏 with PB and cinnamon 🤗 while working on the grocery list.

Am I the only one that will rewrite the list to be in the order of how ya shop each store???

Friday Night Auxiliary Work

Incorporating Split squat holds with elevated trailing leg is a great way to improve that leg stability and reverse lunge. My quad is still giving me problems, but these seem to help a bit. Acupuncture helped last week and I had another appointment earlier today so hopefully I continue to see an improvement there.

When I first started doing side planks months ago I could barely make it 25 seconds per side. Today I just hit 50 seconds each side for 3 sets! Pretty happy with these!
•
No video but I did my final set of knee supported 3 point rows at 110 tonight. Felt pretty good! Might try it again next week pending how the lats feel

I did my workouts, and went out to dinner the last two nights. You read that right I went out to dinner two nights in a row. 
Because here's the thing guys, being healthy doesn't mean you don't enjoy yourself. It doesn't mean you are stuck doing nothing but working out and chomping on greens and bland chicken. 
Enjoy yourself, but hold yourself to a standard. Thank your food for giving your the strength to do everything you do, and keep doing you.

Finally got my #totalbodyworkout in tonight!  Was anyone else’s app pausing today?  @fitbodyapp @annavictoria Mine was being super glitchy and wouldn’t let the music continue playing for some reason 🤔  I had a very fun day at work!  It was a workday for teachers but we did a “wellness” day so we had breakfast for us, an essential oils presentation, a fun scavenger hunt, yoga, 5-minute massages, plus we got to leave at noon due to snow!  And at the massage they were selling hour massages or facials for $45 so I have gift cards to treat myself to a facial and massage plus another massage either for me 😬 or my husband if he wants to get one for the first time! So, I thought I would share one of Favorite HEALTHY French Toast recipes that is an part of my meal plan! If you try it, you’ve gotta let me know! It’s from my favorite cooking channel, Fixate. •
🍞Southern Spiced French Toast with Bananas & Pecans🍌
•
INGREDIENTS: Serves 4
️4 large eggs
️1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
️1 Tbsp pure maple syrup
️1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
️4 slices Ezekiel bread ️2 tsp coconut oil ️1 large banana, sliced
️1/2 cup chopped raw pecans
•
RECIPE:
• Combine eggs, almond milk, maple syrup, and pumpkin pie spice in a shallow pan; whisk to blend.
• Soak each slice of bread in egg mixture for two minutes, turning halfway.
• Heat oil in a medium nonstick skillet over medium heat.
• Add bread; cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
• Top each slice evenly with banana and pecans; serve and enjoy! 😋

It’s from my favorite cooking channel, Fixate. • Southern Spiced French Toast with Bananas & Pecans • INGREDIENTS: Serves 4 ️4 large eggs ️1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk ️1 Tbsp pure maple syrup ️1 tsp pumpkin pie spice ️4 slices Ezekiel bread ️2 tsp coconut oil ️1 large banana, sliced ️1/2 cup chopped raw pecans • RECIPE: • Combine eggs, almond milk, maple syrup, and pumpkin pie spice in a shallow pan; whisk to blend. • Soak each slice of bread in egg mixture for two minutes, turning halfway. • Heat oil in a medium nonstick skillet over medium heat. • Add bread; cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. • Top each slice evenly with banana and pecans; serve and enjoy! - 1 hour ago

RE-ALIGNMENT... 🐖 few things ran through my mind while clocking in the distance and controlling the pace + breathing (need to manage my recovery thats why).. First, never to put others before you all the time because you will never know that you are actually at the bottom of their list. When you tends to love and care more, be prepared to be hurt by their actions n ignorance n lack of ability to try to understand. Take care of urself spritually, emotionally and physically first! ❤😘
Secondly, you can have great amount of energy and passion for something, however you need to know how to seek for that motivation you need to keep you going, never rely on others to give you that motivation you need, you might never get it.. 😎
Thirdly, JUST LET GO of whatever that trouble you and MOVE ON - dont think too much, life still go on, life is too short for those nonsense. Put up a smile and walk on by.. 😌

The gym is somewhere I can definitely let my mind rest and just completely feel at ease! Lately I haven’t been worried about weight but doing what I can and getting a GREAT lift in!! Also, I think people need to be more open to help in the gym. I was having a “weak” chest day and I normally can do 10 reps of the 45’s.....WELL, I went back and could not get them up. This older gentleman asked if I really wanted to to them and was an awesome spotter! Like what? Sometimes the nicest people are at the gym! ❤️ SO instead of being prideful I accepted and he helped me get to 8! SO not everyone is out to get you, most people genuinely want to help!😊

SLOWER but COMPLETED! 5km - 34:15 - 6'47" pace - no music, just a lot of reflections.. 🙏
Told myself I perform better in a lower temperature weather but still I couldnt get out of bed (too much of late night BINGO games). Today's objective is not to run with faster pace, but to complete the 5km be it rain or shine, working on the FOCUS while killing all the negative thoughts accumulated for the past few days - no one if more important than taking good care of my ownself first 😎

Do you ever stop and think 🤔 about the impact that one decision can make? .
A realization hit me when I was bringing this giant bag of dog food into my house today. I made one decision… to take better care of myself through being consistent with my workouts and conscientious of the food that I put into my body. That decision has had a ripple effect in my life 🌊 .
.
Sure, in the 20-30 minutes a day that I work out, that decision can be hard sometimes... but man, it has made my life easier in general... from riding my horse to playing with my dog to hiking to carrying my dog food and groceries and everything in between 💪🏼. .
Health like is a gift, and I want it for everyone ❤️

The "middle" of my day on Fridays is gym time!  I smush it in between school and Friday Night Magic. And before I go I always question if I should nap instead. NOPE. Today was not the best day for me mentally at school. I'm feeling pretty cruddy about how I'm doing and I'm disappointed in myself that I'm still making stupid mistakes. Factor that in with my jeans not really fitting this morning and you've got a hot mess of me. .

So I put on my big girl leggings and crushed bench day! (Well, crushed for me.) I did 65 lbs for EIGHT REPS! For real. It's coming together and I feel myself getting stronger. The hard work is going to be worth it. .

The icing on the great gym cake? Rob was at HIIT because he's joining my gym tomorrow!! I really figured he wouldn't but I'm estatic that he is! Tomorrow is yoga, can't wait? ..

Had to open my window on this snowy day to cool off after my workout! 
I'm still at it. Proud of myself for not quitting like I usually do. I love working out in the comfort of my home. I control the temperature, I control  the time, I control the privacy level, and I don't have to get my guy bag together and drive somewhere else to workout, especially in bad weather! 
Nothing gets in your way when you do it at home!

Almost 1 year at Burn (and a good 40 minutes of jumping after 5 p.m.'s killer back and shoulder camp), I FINALLY GOT A DOUBLE UNDER!!!! I actually probably got 2, but only one that I know for sure. On the questionable one, the rope ended behind me instead of in front (@andrewsuchlabbc even heard it) but I wasn't sure, so I kept trying. Gotta be sure on something as awesome as your first double under, right?

The for real one, though? That was so cool. It sailed under twice with a nice whoosh whoosh and then I got a single after it. I was so happy that I spun around with a little happy dance...the three 6 p.m. ladies there can attest to that. I so appreciate them cheering me on. And, I am grateful for the tips that @bjobeyer and @pepperbun2077 gave me tonight that helped me focus. Of course, I am also happy Andrew was there to give me some words to motivate me to keep trying. So glad I did.

Are these a thing? Btn jerk to snatch balance? I noticed when i did regular snatch balances id just jerk it up and then squat, but these force me to get under the bar fast, kiiiinda sketch tho lol. if i can catch weight like this in a oh position, ill be able to catch a snatch no prob.

Today was yet another exercise in failure. I know that attempting to do handstands without the wall to support me rather that doing the accessorie work to build up to it is like running before learning to crawl, but dammit I'm a stubborn individual. But I'm still posting this because failure is okay, failure teaches us what to learn from our mistakes. Success and humility can only come from countless failures. Anywho I'm just happy I didn't eat it.

Squeezed in a 6 mile HMP tempo (+1 mile warmup & 1 mile cool down) in the midst of shopping, packing and scrambling to get everything ready for our family trip to the snow this weekend! ⛄️❄️ It was pouring rain outside, so I ran on the treadmill. My heart rate was even better than last week so I threw in a fast kick at the end just to get me in to zone 4. 😆 I guess I’ve been running too many easy runs the past year - Zone 3 feels “hard.” 😂 I ran my last half marathon (March 2017) at an 8:57 pace and my heart rate was in Zone 4 & 5 the entire time. 😅 So on one hand, yay! Squeezed in a 6 mile HMP tempo (+1 mile warmup & 1 mile cool down) in the midst of shopping, packing and scrambling to get everything ready for our family trip to the snow this weekend! ️ It was pouring rain outside, so I ran on the treadmill. My heart rate was even better than last week so I threw in a fast kick at the end just to get me in to zone 4. I guess I’ve been running too many easy runs the past year - Zone 3 feels “hard.” I ran my last half marathon (March 2017) at an 8:57 pace and my heart rate was in Zone 4 & 5 the entire time. So on one hand, yay! The day finally came and I knew it was my time to work on myself, to become a better mama, wife, and to be here forever for my family! It’s one step I’ve never looked back and seriously has changed my life! It’s just not about the weight loss, it’s about changing mentally and emotionally! I always said I want to be skinny, NO I know want to be strong and healthy! ❤️

It's such an awesome feeling when you actually look forward to going to the gym on a Friday night, after work. .
