Following on from my last post about stress, I thought I would do a post outlining my favorite ways to manage stress. Now, keep in mind that just because certain things work for me, does not mean that they will work for everyone.
It is so important to identify what techniques work best for you when it comes to combating stress, so you are able to get on top of it as quickly as possible and use your body’s energy for more important things like digestion and maintaining overall health
My go-to techniques are:
-Breathing exercises (really focusing on your breath as you inhale and exhale) 🧘🏼♀️
-Distracting myself with something I enjoy (exercise, listening to a podcast, reading a book, watching tv) 🏼♀️
-Talking to someone (cannot stress enough how important it is to have people to talk to when you’re feeling overwhelmed - whether it be a health professional or friend/family member, do not be ashamed to let someone know how you’re feeling) 🏽
-Sipping on a herbal tea specific for the nervous system (lavender, lemon balm, passionflower, chamomile) ️ - 5 minutes ago
