I am more than happy to officially announce that I’ve just signed a contract with one of the (or better said, THE) best Basketball youth and talent acadamy in Switzerland. I am excited to join Grasshopper Club Zurich - Section Basketball, as Athletic, Strength, and Conditioning Coach and will be responsible for 5 Teams. 2 years ago I envisioned myself being here.. So this is a big achievement for me. I can’t wait to give all my knowledge and passion to these young players. A big thank you to the management for their trust.

6 x 10 @ 80kg (176lb)(Last Set) I can’t even explain how good these feel after beating my head against the wall trying to do high bar for last two months. Even with a 5am start so I can study for exams.

🚨HIP FLEXOR MOBILITY🚨

The hip flexors work hard and often become shortened. When shortened, they do not allow the leg to fully extend backwards. This can be problematic in conditions such as IT Band Syndrome, Runner🏃🏻‍♂️Injuries, Low Back Pain, and many other hip conditions.

👉🏻The following 4 exercises (SWIPE LEFT) will assist in loosening the hip flexor complex:
.
1️⃣ The hip flexor stretch opens the front of the hip and allows for better mobility of the hip. The added side bend increases the tension across the outer hip muscles. (🔈SOUND ON)
.
2️⃣ Be sure to reach high up on the dowel to avoid compression to the lower back.
.
3️⃣ Add a mobility band to increase the effectiveness.
.
4️⃣ The key is activating the glutes while in the stretch position. This allows you to actively pull your leg to the ground increasing the stretch. Also, keep the lower abs engaged to further the stretch.

Not long until I make my return to competing. 
2017 Asa Nationals was my last comp, this comp in Canberra is an arnolds qualifier which is obviously the goal. However I’ve placed no pressure on myself, I’m just excited to go out there and find the love for strongman again. 
Life gets taxing with work, starting my gym, injury’s and trying to be the best coach I can for my lifters so prep pretty well hasn’t existed but I still feel good.

A common tricep exercise with added progressive resistance. Here I'm performing a common dumbbell tricep extension and in the other frame I've added a conditioning band at the top end of the movement. Even if you have only lighter weights or in a hotel gym with limited equipment, you can use this method to increase the work on yourself. Just focus on keeping your elbows tight as you can. .

🤔Do you have pain at the base of your neck (where it meets the shoulders?) Numbness or tingling in your arm? Or maybe you have a bulge there and just hate how it looks. If any of those sound like you I got you covered today.

📌 Let me start by saying a bulge in that area is pretty common – particularly if you work a desk job 👨‍💻 or spend your whole day hunched over on the gram. As with other postural related things I’ve hit on we can’t say that it will cause pain 🤕 or problems – so if you have a bulge but no associated pain or problems then don’t stress.

📌 Now, if you do have pain in that area or you get numbness/tingling/burning down into your hand (particularly if it runs in a continuous 📈 line) then addressing the bulge or working on improving mobility there may be worthwhile. 🤔Do you have pain at the base of your neck (where it meets the shoulders?) Numbness or tingling in your arm? Or maybe you have a bulge there and just hate how it looks. If any of those sound like you I got you covered today. __ Let me start by saying a bulge in that area is pretty common – particularly if you work a desk job or spend your whole day hunched over on the gram. As with other postural related things I’ve hit on we can’t say that it will cause pain 🤕 or problems – so if you have a bulge but no associated pain or problems then don’t stress. __ Now, if you do have pain in that area or you get numbness/tingling/burning down into your hand (particularly if it runs in a continuous line) then addressing the bulge or working on improving mobility there may be worthwhile. Solid arm day in the books! My L shoulder and hand have been giving me trouble all week and so I opted for the @roguefitness bar today. Definitely a more elbow and shoulder friendly bar than an Olympic straight bar. This allowed me to keep pushing the envelope for arms today. Went pretty hard on weighted carries too but was unable to record that! I'm gradually upping the number of working sets for arms each week in order to prioritize them. I started at 10 working sets per week and will end this block at 20 working sets per week when it's all said and done in the next 6 weeks! Bodyweight hanging around 161 and just over 3000 calories per day with 3 cardio sessions per week, which I'll be keeping in year round going forward! As I was warming up my joints today I took a moment to appreciate my ability to be able to push myself the way I do. I give God the glory because it's His common grace that keeps me healthy. I work with a lot of patients who can't even raise their arms to eye level and they have to work hard to regain whatever they can! Go slow and maintain control throughout birddogs and deadbugs.
Reach out and forward with either L/R arm, while simultaneously kicking opposite leg straight out or back.

If side planks are challenging, start with legs stacked in bent/kneeling position, progressing to straight leg side planks. Feet are either stacked or staggered (top foot forward) .

#Wolfventure after studying on and off for this exam for 3+ years. I finally scheduled an exam which forced me to prepare and cram hard. More so, take it seriously with a time line to meet that was fast approaching.

Looking for drills to make your snatch technique solid?

The 💥 Snatch Balance Drill 💥 is a great way to build skill and confidence in the bottom of the snatch as it teaches the lifter to move quickly under the bar and catch the bar in the receiving position for the snatch.
👇
The lifter will stand tall and drop under the bar rather than jumping underneath. Getting under the bar requires speed as well as rigidity on landing so the lifter doesn't collapse in the receiving position.

@stanford has a 40kg (88lb) kettlebell. It's existence seemed like a challenge. Not to be outdone by the boulder I put it overhead, stood up, and laid down. I feel like I really showed it who's boss for some reason.
