SHOULD YOU BE TRAINING FOR STRENGTH OR HYPERTROPHY?

Did you know the amount of reps and rest time determine your gains? Maybe you did, maybe you didn’t
-
💪strength work is primarily focused on heavy weights (80-100% 1RM) with low reps ranges (1-5 reps). This is very good to build ridiculous strength as long as there is progressive overload.
🧠things to keep in mind
-strength training will take longer to build muscle compared to hypertrophy training BUT the muscle built will be stubborn to lose
-strength training is VERY taxing on the nervous system so rest days are a MUST if you want to preform better on your next session
-strength training can be very dangerous if proper form is not executed and is stressful on the joints
-strength training requires longer rest times in order to preform best on each set (2-5 minutes) 💪hypertrophy training is primarily focused on medium range weight (60-80% 1RM) and medium rep ranges (6-12 reps), with great muscle gain being the main focus.
🧠things to keep in mind
-hypertrophy training is a great way to build quality muscle relatively quickly but it’s possible to lose it just as fast if you were to stop lifting all together.
-hypertrophy training is safer because it involves less weight and it’s much safer on the joints
-you are able to train more frequently because it is not as taxing on the nervous system.
-rest times are fairly short (30sec-2min)

Busy not busy........ Just the senior team in this morning. I collected some data and got programs out to the ladies team and updated the program one of the non-playing group are on for the rest of the week while I’m away.

Glad to be stuck back into my own training again. I’ve dropped to 88kg from 96kg when I arrived. I’ve always been self conscious about my weight due to being very skinny at school and through my 20’s so I’ll want to add some weight back on over this year. Muscle mass though as opposed to the excess fat I have been carrying. 
Looking forward to the change of scenery tomorrow.

Be fit and enjoy life don't spend all day in the gym you only need 1 hour really any longer than that you will start to release catabolic hormones because your body will start stressing out. People who spend hours in the gym are either powerlifters that's another style of training which requires more rest between sets or bodybuilders who are on that juice. I'm just trying to look good and feel good, what about you.

Wednesday is a great time to tone chest and arms!
Upper body exercises are the most universally loved. If you are looking to tone the arms, increase strength in the upper body and reduce fat around the waist, this is the workout you want.

Give me 5 minutes and I will give you a light burn before work. 
The Five Exercises Are:
1.Pullovers (Mobility)
2.(1st step) Turkish getup (Stability)
3.OH Presses (Strength)
4.American KB swing (Power)
5.Up Down Plank (Endurance)

You will feel and look great if you can maintain this every day! 
By boosting your metabolism as soon as you wake up, it highly increases you ability to reduce weight gain and increase fat loss.
The idea revolves around the practice of working with clients for 5 years now and finding out that if we challenge the muscle in every way possible, and as quickly as possible. 
Doing this we create an environment that allows the muscles to grow as fast as possible meaning we can burn a lot of calories, and develop strength, in a very minimal time.

a Turkish getup just the first step is
it's a long process but today we're

The slow af eccentric Ham Curl is one of my favourite deadlift assistance exercises. 
Supersetted with hyperextensions or hip thrusts or [insert glute move] and you have an awesome lower posterior builder. 
Hamstrings are pivotal in the lockout of deadlifts and as stabilizers in squats, but so many people (mainly men) overlook training them (and bums). DONT BE DUMB!

The guy with the biggest arse and back quads is always the one lifting the biggest tin!

The Hams respond very well to slow sets of 6-8, but you can train them in all set and rep ranges. 
Today was 4x6 with a 6111 tempo.

-Bending knees too much
-Repetitions are quick and sloppy

Good Habits: ✅
-Back stays straight
-Head stays in line with spine
-Slight bend in knees
-Slow and controlled repetitions

👉🏻Your back should stay straight as you stretch hamstrings by lowering the dumbbells.

👉🏻It’s always better to do an exercise at a slow speed to ensure the aforementioned tips are implemented properly!

I get a lot of questions on how to structure a program for fat loss.

Day 2 still recovering from food poisoning, 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
I haven’t been able to eat but today I was good with keeping fluids in, which made my body feel better. Yesterday I only stretched and did light yoga just so I wouldn’t miss out on my routine. But today I did Back/Biceps, used lighter weights than usual since my body isn’t 100% 
Now it’s time to get back in bed and rest some more. ❤️😘😘❤️

The real work in Pilates comes when you focus on form, balance, alignment, and control. I'm always stressing this to my clients. Then magically all those stabilizing muscles that you sometimes don't even know exist until you start doing the exercises kick in. At first glance, these exercises may not seem that challenging. Keep it PRISON TIGHT – yeah I said it...Prison Tight! I've used this term for over a decade and it seems to be the cue that most are able to “tap” into the best when learning how to properly squeeze their glutes. I beleive the term is self explanitory but for those of you who don't understand maybe this will help. Here's how it works. At the top of a movement such as squats, deadlifts, kettlebell swings, SLD's, etc., clench your cheeks as if you dropped the soap. Enough said.

If that doesn't work try using the cue Bad Borrito Tight. Think of fumbling for your house keys after expericing that warm soupy belly feeling. Yeah that one...we've all been there so don't lie.

Try using one of these cues the next time your hitting legs. If you're not squeezing your glutes hard like this at the top position of these movemnts you're not getting the most out of them. Don't waste a single rep. Don't half-ass it!

Now get squeezing Sweet Cheeks! *NO this is not a PR 🤣
