I had my first therapy session in probably 15 years last night. I was anxious going in, for a multitude of reasons. But, I do believe that mental health is something everyone should take care of and take seriously. And it felt so good to talk and be heard and to not feel like a burden.
I’m going to have therapy every Tuesday from now on, and I would like to share a little life lesson each week I garner from my time. Most will be self reflective. Probably attached to a tranquil photo like this one to invoke thought.
This week: you are not a burden. You are not an inconvenience. You are not a nuisance. You are valid and deserve to take up space and exist and feel to the extent you need. You are not alone and you do not need to be alone in order to avoid pestering people. You are not a weight. You are a gift. - 13 hours ago
