Detox drink....I find when I'm eating clean and drinking a ton of water, my body feels happier. I endo pain is always there, but I feel not as sluggish and i feel like I'm putting good stuff in my body to fuel it! I know the lemons are terrible for interstitial cystitis, but I've paired with the blueberries and a little touch of honey. I originally got the idea from @medicalmedium he had posted a blueberry lemonade drink and I thought I'd just make it with what I had! #endolife #endometriosis #endosisters #hysterectomy #endo #chronicillness #endowarriors #endometriosis #endolife #excision #endometriosisawareness #speakupspeakendo #pelvicpain #pelvicfloordysfunction #pelvicfloorphysicaltherapy #ic #interstitialcystitis #endometriosisawareness #endosucks #invisibledisease #chronicillness #endowarriors #endometriosis #endolife #excision #endometriosisawareness #speakupspeakendo #pelvicpain #pelvicfloordysfunction #pelvicfloorphysicaltherapy #ic #interstitialcystitis

Well....what I thought maybe wasnt helping so much with my endometriosis pain, might have been improving my pain after all. Last month my dr and I decided if it isnt helping, get rid of it....but, after about 6 weeks off it it, I'm giving this baby a try again, with the hopes of some type of relief before moving on to more invasive treatments. I've had 2 surgeries in the last 10 months....unfortunately I cant see what's going on in there, my bladder is a mess since the hysterectomy and the endo pains are worse than they were prior to surgery. And I know, all this is doing is masking the issue until there is another surgery, but at this point I am JUST TRYING TO SURVIVE. This all day every day pain is enough to run the strongest person into the ground. I just want some damn relief! I meet with my dr again on the 31st to discuss what is next for me...I'll be over here sweatin away from the hot flashes 🔥

Thank you @jessb1010 had to share.
I put on a brave face most of the time, so when it gets bad, it means it is really effing bad.

Who else is a member? Put your hands up 👍

As my symptoms of endometriosis started when I was a teenager, I have always felt some sort of fatigue - at varying levels. Micro naps are a must at times!

You are not a failure for having to rest and/or nap. Listen to your body - it is sending you signals all the time.💖

Today is mine and my husbands 1 year wedding anniversary. Hes been through so much with me especially during this last year. I had had stomach pain for a couple years, but things declined quickly after our wedding and I got a diagnosis only a couple months later. This weekend we are on a little celebration get away, back to where we said I do, and I can't help but feel so grateful for someone who is not only supportive of me and my health, but so caring and loving. Currently dying in bed with heat on my belly because god forbid I try and live my life like a normal 32 year old for a couple days with my hubby. But, such is life. And such is life with a chronic illness.

One week to go before surgery. So many times I’ve thought of just cancelling it and living life in pain because I’m so scared 😦 also hoping for good results tomorrow 🙏

@speakupspeakendo is a community of women who collaboratively share their stories of #endometriosis — their road to diagnosis, their hardships, their surgeries, their symptoms, their treatments, their TRUTH

#Endometriosis, aka #Endo, for short, affects 1 in 10 women. Endo can only be diagnosed through laparoscopic surgery where tissue samples are sent to pathology to confirm or deny the presence of the disease

Common symptoms include painful sex, pain after sex, nausea, fatigue, hair loss / acne / hormonal imbalance, weight loss or weight gain, food intolerances, digestion pain / issues, lack of appetite, chronic pelvic pain, joint pain, infertility, and more

#speakupspeakendo is a safe place to find refuge living with Endo; if you or someone you know thinks you may have Endometriosis, come join...also, join Nancy’s Nook on FB, read through her files, and EDUCATE and EMPOWER yourself. Find an excision specialist near you who can perform your laparoscopy

YOU ARE GREATER THAN YOUR ENDO. You are worthy, beautiful, and need to speak up to help us find better treatment, create an easier road to diagnosis, and find a cure for future generations
PS — thank you @teallouise for inspiring my new page layout

“Yesterday, after almost a year of contemplation (plus fears & excuses), I underwent surgery for endometriosis. Leading up to the surgery, I was very nervous.
Both my grandma & my mom had endometriosis, and they had the most severe stages, so I really thought I might too.
I prayed for the best, but honestly prepared myself for the worst.
_
Typically, the surgery takes 1-4 hours, but my surgery only took 40 minutes because by the grace of God, I only had mild Stage 1 Endometriosis that was easy to remove 🙌🏼
_
I am incredibly tired and sore (I have to waddle around like a penguin due to the pain in my abdomen lol), but I praise God for His goodness & protection over me!
I praise Him for the doctors and nurses that took amazing care of me.
I praise Him for my husband and my mom who were there for me in the waiting room, and who have taken such good care of me since...”

💛Not everyone you LOOSE is a LOSS💛
•
Accepting this statement has been the most important turning point on my #roadtorecovery thus far. These last couple of months have honestly pushed me passed my breaking point. I’m still picking up the pieces- but at least I’m trying. •
When you live with #chronicillness it can dramatically effect your relationships. I have had friends that stopped talking to me because they don’t understand why I haven’t gotten better yet. Most recently- I was dumped by my ex because he believed I was too sick to continue our relationship. This tore me apart. It made me blame myself for things that were beyond my control. I can’t control when I have an #endoflare, #IBS, or #nervepain. So here is my PSA to all my #spooniesisters... if someone leaves you because they “can’t handle” your illness- let them. Our illnesses and disabilities do not define us- but it’s still important to acknowledge they are a part of us. If someone can’t accept every part of you- then they aren’t worth your time. Letting go allows you to focus on your own personal healing instead of worrying what others may think of you. Sometimes self care means letting go of toxic relationships so you can focus on the healthy ones.💗

“Endometriosis = where cells like the ones in the lining of the womb are found elsewhere in the body •

It is a chronic and debilitating condition that causes painful, heavy periods. It may also lead to infertility, fatigue and bowel and bladder problems •

Around 1.5 million women in the UK are currently living with the condition and yet it still takes on average SEVEN YEARS to get it correctly diagnosed by a doctor •

It’s messed up we don’t talk about periods more frankly. It’s natural, it’s beautiful, and none of us would be here without them! • 💊 LET’S TALK ABOUT IT 💊”

Lately I’ve been getting a lot of DMs about #Endometriosis, so I thought I’d do a little Q&A, part 1:

Q — What were your first signs & symptoms of Endometriosis?
A — Age 30...Before I had even heard of Endometriosis, I lived 2 years of hell. I woke up one morning (Oct. 2016) thinking I had appendicitis. Waiting it out to take my son to school, I then drove myself to the ER. My appendix was “inflamed” but not enough to perform an appendectomy, and there was fluid in my abdomen; was discharged and told to come back if I felt worse the next day. I did, so went back. The next ER doc on duty accused me of being a drug seeker since i was back within 24 hours, and denied proper care. I DIDN’T EVEN WANT PAIN MEDS! Just answers. The nurse was AWFUL and practically let me 💩 all over myself after bowel prep. Throughout that year, I was in the ER 16383 times, having CT scans, MRIs, & multiple ultrasounds; vaginally, abdominal, bladder, kidneys. I had chronic fatigue, joint pain, & my hair fell out. Sex felt like f*king a pine cone. Then would give me flu-like symptoms & cramping afterward. I had food intolerances & multiple ruptured cysts + polycystic ovaries, but was told there was nothing I could do about it. The pain was 24/7, localized to my lower right side; I was constantly screened for appendicitis & sent to GI - I had an endoscopy & colonoscopy. They wanted to put me on anti-spasm meds, but they gave me blurred vision, and made me feel like shit. I was wrongly diagnosed with Chrons disease & IBS. I was waking up in pools of blood when I’d start my period; like a scene out of a horror film. I was bleeding through super+ tampons in 20 minutes. This would eventually require an iron infusion because I had essentially zero ferritin left from “bleeding out.” Because my doctors didn’t have a diagnosis, I was obviously “crazy,” so was sent a referral to psych....I knew something wasn’t right and the pain and symptoms were NOT “in my head”, so I stalked my OBGYN until I finally said OPEN ME UP AND SEE WHAT IS GOING ON INSIDE OF ME! I was diagnosed with Endo after a laparoscopy in June 2017. Wasn’t crazy 🙃🤔 wasn’t better after this...to be cont.
