What am I doing against the wall?😆
.
Between sets when I'm warming up for overhead movements I like to do some quick mobilisation if things aren't moving how I'd like them to. Today I was getting a lot if tightness and some pain in my traps when I was lowering the bar down for jerks. .
How can you implement this into your training if you are experiencing some tightness/discomfort?
.
1. Get a small massage ball, (most gyms have them - golf ball might work, the one I use is tennis ball size and is more general in its release)
.
2. OK you got the ball,  sweet!  Next is to find the spot that's causing you to experience this tightness. In the video I've place the ball below the spine of my scapula, focusing on my infraspinatus. If you want to be general, finding some knots in your traps will do fine. You'll know if you're doing it correctly because of the feedback you'll get.
.
3. Once you've found the spot press yourself gently into the wall. Pressing too hard and applying too much pressure immediately will likely cause you to stiffen up and reduce the amount of relief you'll experience otherwise.
.
4. Start with some slow circles, rotating your arm clockwise.
.
5. Complete 10-15 circles during your warm up sets. If that helps, you're awesome.
If not: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

The recent catch up with @buffalochua reminds me of he being my judge during Buffalo's Weightlifting Championship 2 years ago. These 2 lifts are at similar weights.

I've come a long way... One thing never change, I always smile 😁

It is easy to forget how much we've progressed. I'm off from competition for for time being to focus more on self development as a whole.

I’ve been really trying to emphasize placing my shoulders over the bar, full extension, and fast/controlled turnovers. Muscle snatch + Power snatch + Snatch + Hang snatch..... “Heartbreak Hill” can beat it.

In the video you see round 2 where I go through the complex twice. This session I named Heartbreak hill due to the ascending and descending nature and for the fact it broke me.

I came into the workout with jelly legs and some how managed to not die so I'm giving today TWO THUMBS UP.

Might've been a fluke but I didnt feel any pain in my ankle or calf today so that's extra #winning for me. A step in the right direction.

Worked on some snatch technique, in regards to the breakdown of the dynamic lift I've been using since march.

Off camera I worked in a few sets of barbell row and wrapped up the night with ghd situps and back extensions. Again I didnt throw up and I didnt die!. Woo hoo.

Paused Bench up to a single at 270lbs/122kg. Some backoff doubles after. Maybe my upper body is getting strongish finally..?

Didn’t realize until after today’s session that the 3 position snatch we had programmed for today, was something I have never been able to do. Week 7 has me feeling beat and was 1 for 2 out of 3 sets but I fought for this last set. Guys, a year ago I had squat a 55# snatch ONCE. I’m approaching 2 years of weightlifting and it’s been one hell of a fucking journey. Oly never came easy for me but I knew I loved it and I just kept at it. It’s changed my life. Long ass story short, KEEP FUCKING AT IT. Focus today was on patience & efficiency in the second & third pull.
