TEACHING CUES FOR FISH POSE?! Ok teachers how do you teach fish pose. What are your first cues and how do you guide your students through the fish pose?

Fish pose is a pose of the extension of the spine and one of the poses that is meant to have the most benefits on the human body. Placing the top of the head on the ground is challenging and can even be dangerous for some students. .
I do not teach fish pose regularly. As much as it is beneficial for the human body this pose is not safe for group classes and if you ever attended one of my classes you would know I take fish pose seriously and when I do teach it we go through preparations and step by step process before entering the pose. .

The animal woke up at 6:15am! Then climbed all over me my entire workout!🙄🙄🙄 Thank goodness for our home gym otherwise I’d never make it to the gym!!

Well it’s Monday and back to the grind. I started the primal pack from @1stphorm and I will let you all know how it goes. As I have gotten older I notice that I don’t have amount energy that I once had but still I don’t feel my age but I need to be able move in the gym and get best results possible. SHOULDERS. How do you like to do upright rows?? Last post I used two 10kg dumbbells, but this is a different option. 15kg plate (or heavier/lighter depending what you have). This option allows for a close grip, but overall technique is the same. Posture up nice  and tall, abs switched on, shoulders back and elbows come up first. Remember the upright row rule. If you are unable to get those elbows up first, go lighter until you can!! Why / Benefits - many people only push in 1 small part of the anterior (forward) zone, leaving them vulnerable to a change, so working a different angle each time helps strengthen the entire region/movement, not just one spot.

1st video - standing overhead barbell press (alternating from front to the behind the neck) - absolutely a must fundamental movement to build strong and massive shoulders!
• Focus on keeping the core muscles tight throughout the movement.
• Press directly up from the elbows.
• Use full range of motion during each conscious and controlled rep.

On the 2nd video - a very effective (my favorite) Shoulders mobility movements sequence with a use of elastic bend.
Here it all about “flowing” slowly and consciously from 1 movement to another. Notice how smooth the transitions are. No rush , pure conscious presence. ( I suggest you to Do mobility routine like this prior to main workout routine in order to make your shoulder joints flexible, mobile, strong and allow yourself to perform movements like on the 1st video without getting injured 😉

Gerakan ini dilakukan sambil duduk, dg menempelkan torso ke paha. Genggam dumbbell dg pegangan netral dan lurus dg tubuh.

Ketika buang napas, angkat lengan sampai lurus segaris dg bahu. Saat tangan turun, tarik napas. Ulangi. Jangan lupa punggungnya mesti lurus, ya.

Beban yg dipakai sesuaikan dg kemampuan. Repetisinya sih biasanya gue makai 3x8. Kalo ga punya dumbbell, bisa diganti dg benda lain yg berat dan enak digenggam. Cobek, misalnya.

Finally getting a little closer to handstand push-ups!! I’ve been really working on improving my performance with all my body weight exercises lately... primarily pull-ups, push-ups and air squats! Doing this and really focusing on my form has really helped me connect with my body and keep me continuously improving!

My favorite shoulder exercise, especially to hit the middle delts, Klovov presses. They can be a killer workout to do to really target mid-delts plus upper-back. A few key points:

1- In order to do these you safely you MUST have really good shoulder mobility, especially in the horizontal abduction range (see 2nd and 3rd video for example) this ensures the safety of the shoulder joint.
2-Wrist mobility! If you have never done anything snatch width related this will probably hurt your wrists increasing as weight goes up.
3-If trying for the first time start light, hands wide (bar should be approx. 6" above your head when @full extension. Engage core and glutes!! Give it a shot, if you're able. To celebrate my new #fitnessgoal I just completed my first bulking sesch doing my favorite workout doing #shoulders! I figured it would only be appropriate to celebrate the month of October doing something that truly intimidates and scares the hell outta me; which is lifting extremely heavy. I've always been scared of injuring myself because 99% of the time I'm working out by myself since my favorite workout partner @neeltodaking always has to work and can'tbe with me to spot me :( I'm so proud of my petite frame that is perfect for endurance and higher reps but now that I've lost the 15 pounds I wanted to I'm now ready to gain it all back! Two excellent wall slide exercises to improve shoulder mobility.***1.  Stand against a wall. Lift your arms out to your side with your elbows against the wall and hands up and against the wall. Slide your arms up and down, mimicking a shoulder press pattern but don't compensate by arching your back. You should feel an activation in the back (not in your shoulders). If it's difficult, move your feet a bit out from the wall.*** 2 (2nd image). Stand with toes touching the wall. Start with your elbows bent at your sides and pinky fingers against the wall. Slide your hands upward and slightly to the sides until both arms are straight.
