❌ The most common fault I see👇🏻
Elbows move away from the body.
As soon as the elbows move, this becomes a poorly done cable lat pull through with a quarter range tricep extension finish! This is not ideal and moves the force away from the tricep and into the lats instead.
🔑Make sure the elbows never move with this

❌SWIPE RIGHT
Shoulders take over and protract over the bar
This results in you pressing the bar in the the floor rather than extending the elbow
~
✅ SWIPE RIGHT
Elbows locked into the side
Shoulders back and scapula retracted
Elbow’s don’t move
Press into be floor while keeping shoulder back
🔑Lockout the elbows fully and pause at bottom
Slow release (3 seconds)
Keep in active range - parallel forearm (don’t let it go too far up and lose muscular tension)

Luckily, if you want to build muscle, there are many ways to skin the cat.

With that being said, you will make the most progress is you stick to the program. Stick to it for a least 8 weeks. The goal with every workout is to beat or tie last workout’s performance. So that means doing the same reps and weight, or adding a rep, or adding 5lbs. With that being said, here are some methods to build muscle:

German Volume Training. A classic. Do 10 sets of 10 reps on each major muscle group.

The DUP Method. A modern classic. When I tell people they need to train each muscle group 3 times per week, this is how you accomplish it. You’ll use 3 different set and rep schemes: 4x4, 4x8, and 3x12. The 4x4 day is a strength day. This allows you to lift more when you train to build muscle. The 3x12 day is pure muscle building. The 4x8 day is for strength and mass.

Non-Linear Periodization. If you are going to train a muscle twice per week, then NLP is the way to go. You will have a strength day (5x5) and a muscle building day (4x12).

Stronglifts 5x5. This is a classic beginner program. You will do 5 sets of 5 reps on every major lift (muscle group). The goal is to build strength (and dense muscle follows).

My advice on this is to find a coach you believe in, a coach that you are willing to buy into their philosophy and way of training. If you truly buy into it, you don’t need the most crazy, sophisticated program. You need heart and belief.

In my experience even if you have the most complex program in the world but no belief behind the person giving it to you’re not going to get the results you are after.

Trust and belief are important, even more so then the sets and reps in a lot of cases.

This bulk is getting serious. Adding some serious size to my chest and shoulders. Sitting around 194 close to that 200lbs. 
So happy my waist has stayed small. I remember wearing a size 40 last time I was around this weight, crazy how much of a difference muscle and fat is stored on the body. Excited to really see the gainz when I start my next cut.

These new mats are sick, buzzed to get in more freestyle sessions in over the winter now to refine the dynamics🌪 .
