This. Mindful self-compassion is the new black. I’m recommending this to close friends, to my community who receive my notes from the studio, to my fellow ambitious, creative, caring, high-achieving, prone to burnout humans.
Seriously, it’s not about being selfish or lazy or weak. It’s not all woo-woo. It’s about being as kind and generous to ourselves as we are to others.
It’s about letting go of unrelenting standards and acknowledging our humanity, our heart, our efforts. Life will always throw curve balls; we all have habits we want to break; we will mess up.
This is for you, this is for me, this is for all of us who’ve become so accustomed to an inner critic, an unhelpful inner dialogue aimed at the self that we would *never* inflict on others.
