HOW DID I PAY FOR NURSING SCHOOL? .
well , by any means possible. when i started college , i had $0 in my savings , no scholarships, no grants , no financial aid . the first year i paid out of pocket since the classes were under $1000 (pre reqs) , and later i used my tuition reimbursement from work. .
how does tuition reimbursement work ? basically you pay for the classes and once you pass , you then submit documents, which get reviewed , approved, and paid.. a month later. BUT you had to be working full time - at that time I worked 7P - 7A for the first two years in nursing school . my last year i went per diem , so i no longer had this option after that (one of the sacrifices to have more study time)
ANYWAYS , I would use my tuition reimbursement to pay for the following semester OR the remaining balance to be able to register for the NEXT semester. I also used my own income, tax refund, and borrowed money to pay for school . .
Let’s not forget my bills : rent , car note , insurance , phone bill , credit cards , school loans , gas , food etc. so trust me when i say i know the struggle , I still do ! I may have graduated nursing school, but I’m not a working RN yet. So financially, I’m still a broke college student . but here i am .. i made it thus far. .
and SO CAN YOU , do not give up on yourself. these financial struggles are temporary. the sacrifices are temporary. the not being able to shop for yourself or hanging out with friends, go on vacation is temporary. focus on the cause : be kind to yourself . you are financing yourself through school . - 18 minutes ago
