En bouche, il est doux et salé, un bon équilibre de l'acidité et de la fraîcheur de la brise de mer. Mi-corsé, élégant et lisse. Finale assez courte, sèche et chaude avec un peu d'amertume. Persistant à l'arrière-goût fumé.

About last night with Glenlivit:
Baked Alaska was served. It’s an interesting dessert... part ice cream, cake, meringue, and fire.
There were many culinary influences to create what is now known as the Baked Alaska.
The most credited person for the cake is Charles Ranhofer, a French chef, at Delmonico’s in NYC who created a new cake in 1867 to celebrate when the US purchased Alaska from Russia for only $7.2 million dollars. You will also find the dessert called Norwegian Omelette or Glace au four.
What I do know for sure is that the Baked Alaska is fabulous when paired with a dram of Glenlivit Scotch the 15 or 18 year old. Now that’s what I call the perfect pairing. Sláinte!

Colour: Apple core.
On the nose: A warm embrace from vanilla marshmallows, meringues and an apple fruit salad from a tin so some syrup and fruit juices. Sugary, but also a vibrancy and freshness. A touch of glue? Melon, bread dough with plenty of yeast and a fermented nature with lemon peel. Water showcases wood chips, mint leaf and talc powder.
In the mouth: Vanilla poached pears, well-fired shortbread and black pepper. Green apples, sherbet, pine nuts and green mangoes. Water reveals grapefruit and sugared pancakes with a twist of lemon.

Thursday lunch times in work joining in the New Make Spirit tasting 🤫For those who don’t know, the starting point for any great whisky is the new make spirit. The spirit that comes off the still is a colourless liquid and is distinctively aromatic, full-bodied and floral, which is strange considering it normally sits at around 68% abv. It’s the spirit that then goes into casks for a minimum of 3 years and 1 day and later becomes whisky 🥃 It’s delicious, and I wish it was widely available in bars Hahahaha.... perhaps not! - 44 minutes ago
