What do you see when you look at these images? Fear? Sadness? NEED?
What do you feel? Sadness? Compassion? GUILT? SHAME, RESPONSIBILITY?
The masterful images in their graphic simplicity showcase the ever growing problem of Supply and Demand. Humans greed and feeling of self entitlement to go wherever and do whatever we please no matter the fallout!
The planet, yes THE planet, not OUR planet, Is slowly being destroyed by greed, self indulgence, dominance, ego and carelessness. We have this construct that we own the planet, but we are guests here and as guests we should treat the planet and all living things with respect something we are failing to do. Like being a guest in a foreign country, hotel, guesthouse, we (not all of us) embrace culture and rules and show respect for that, yet on our own doorstep we treat the world like a dumping ground for our greed and self sufficiency. We are bastardising the very planet which gives us life, we provides for us, designed through nature to give us everything we need. Yet greed and currency drive an industry that slaughters and murders innocent animals everyday for Supply and Demand.
The more we WANT the higher the need, the more the cost, our own selfishness is driving us to forget who and what we are. Our altruism isn't something that we can turn on and off to suppress our guilt and shame and the realisation that we are indirectly contributing to MURDER.
In a misinformed and miseducated world we forget to make the connection. We have been conditioned to disconnect from the planet and our environment to support our own wants and pleasures and desires. We are no longer careful, we are careless and wether we realise or not we might as well take our money and cut the throats of the animals we eat.
