This is my, “welp I don’t even know what to think about this workout” face. I drove on over to the track and this is how it went down:
️2 mile warm up @ 8:29 pace
Felt ok, not great, but . My stomach was sloshing around gallons of water (or so it seemed!)
️1 mile @ 6:51 pace
Holy cow, I thought I was going to die. Why the heck did the pace feel so hard? And why was the track so wet and windy- ugh
️2 min jog recovery
How slow could I go and still call it a jog?
️.63 @ 7:05 pace
This literally felt like death. My lungs were burning, my legs were on fire, 1/2 the track was into the wind, and I just hated it- so stopped.
️Decided the track was not my cup of tea today and drove away to a flattish road
️1 mile @ 6:39 pace
Ahhh that felt hard, but better
️2 min jog
Slow, but still got those legs moving
️1 mile @ 6:50 pace
Hard, but doable
️3 min walk
Thank goodness for walking!
️6 x 2 min @ average of 6:15 pace (all over the place though- 6:16, 6:20, 6:24, 6:21, 5:55, 6:13)
️2 min jog between the first 2 and then 2 min walk recoveries after that- my legs felt like rubber ️1.15 cooldown @ 8:26 pace
It was one of those workouts where everything felt harder than it should, but for some reason I kept going and hitting the paces anyway. The next one has gotta feel easier than today! Proud of myself for not giving up.
PS- loving my @tracksmithrunning crop, even though today was the worst day ever to wear one with all of the sloshing around going on 🤪. - 1 hour ago
